PSN Thursday: Qore and some free LBP garbs
This week's PSN update brings us a new Qore, which travels to Tokyo for its latest episode. Also, as promised, LittleBigPlanet owners can grab themselves two free outfits (pictured above). Enjoy the free stuff while it lasts, the nickel and dime LBP strategy starts soon. What else? Oh yeah, so, there's this game called Metal Gear Solid 4. No, no, there's no DLC ... but a demo for it is available now. Apparently that little demo was so stealthy, it took almost five months to find the thing. The full North American update is listed after the break.
PS3 Fanboy informs us the European PSN update wins this week, check it out on their site. Apparently we're supposed to keep a tally on who wins from now on.

Nothing for the PSP AT ALL?! I shouldn't have complained about only getting a trailer last week >.
Hashbrown Hunter @ Nov 7th 2008 5:33AM
Sony has been REALLY dropping the ball on the PSP Store so far. I was very excited that Sony finally created a direct-on-PSP version of the Store and it's great looking and easy to use, but their lack of support so far is VERY disappointing. If they don't start ramping up SOME kind of content for it I think I may abandon my love for the PSP altogether.
chulipin @ Nov 6th 2008 8:44PM
Wait, what? Metal Gear Solid 4 demo? A bit too late Konami.
Levi @ Nov 6th 2008 9:41PM
disagreed. The last MGS I liked was... MGS. This one looks like more fun, but it's a game I definitely won't buy before I try, so, yay demo. I'm sure plenty of other people agree with me.
Plus, a late demo is better than no demo, just in general.
Nick @ Nov 6th 2008 9:11PM
Still no Xenogears over here in the states!! what's the deal, Sony!?
Markez @ Nov 6th 2008 11:49PM
Whattaya mean? I had Xenogears back in the day on my PS1. Was there some newer one I missed out on or something?
Played the hell outta that game, then somewhere on the last disc, I hate a a game killing glitch and all was lost. So pissed...
Vidikron @ Nov 7th 2008 12:46AM
@Markez
He is talking about the PS1 version. Japan has it, along with other great PS1 games, available for download in their PSN store. I really don't understand why they won't give us more PS1 games to download. Japan seems to get new ones every week. We get one like once every month or two.
Markez @ Nov 7th 2008 12:52AM
Ah gotcha. Y'know, now that I think about it, the combat in that game was real dull, and the sheer amount of text and dialogue was beyond excessive. I think my childhood love of Robotech had me really sipping the koolaid on xenogears back in the day.
Titanium_Orchid @ Nov 7th 2008 1:15AM
I seem to remember the reason Europe/US/Japan do not get the same games is because of the ratings systems that they have to go through.
I know that Sony is working on a way to implement a simultaneous world wide releases for a lot of the PSN content. I have no idea as to when that will go into effect though.
Also, anybody can sign up for different regions on the PSN. For instance, I have a US and Japanese account. Someone living in the UK can have a Japanese and US account. If you want to buy stuff, you have to have point cards from the region, but those can be bought online.
The Japanese store is a little difficult to navigate, as everything is in Japanese but you get used to it after a while, and its pretty easy to figure out whats free, and how much other things cost. I got a bonsai-gardening game a few weeks ago. Its kind of fun to tinker around with.
Oh yea, and everything you download will be in Japanese
Vidikron @ Nov 7th 2008 3:00AM
I've actually purchased content from the Japanese PSN store. I bought a Guilty Gear game not too long after the PS3 launched. This was before the PSN cards so I used a virtual Master Card from a bank based in Germany. I just wanted to see if it would work... and it did.
And, yeah, the language can be a problem. Not so much for Guilty Gear since it has a lot of English in the menus, but I image it would be a problem in an RPG.
j.howlett @ Nov 6th 2008 9:25PM
sexy ninja girls?
Dr.Nerd @ Nov 6th 2008 9:26PM
HUH?
Titanium_Orchid @ Nov 7th 2008 1:16AM
all the paid themes suck
Titanium_Orchid @ Nov 7th 2008 1:16AM
well, the Mega Man ones are ok... but I don't really like Mega Man
Dr.Nerd @ Nov 6th 2008 9:25PM
I'm not really a fan of the PS3 If I got it all I would really play is little big planet, Metal Gears Solid 4, and Moterstorm pacific rift. I'm really just a 360 fan.
DemiurgicSoul @ Nov 6th 2008 9:42PM
Thanks for sharing?
Levi @ Nov 6th 2008 9:54PM
lol demi I agree.. We should comment on a post about the 360...
"I don't really care for the 360 if I had one I'd just play Braid I'm really more of a PS3 guy how many sentances can I string together in one run-on..."
Dr.Nerd @ Nov 6th 2008 11:15PM
You know it was just my sense of opionion thank you very much Levi!
D-5 @ Nov 7th 2008 10:29AM

mediahostage @ Nov 6th 2008 11:46PM
So is HOME included here for subscribers or not?!?!
Hatch @ Nov 7th 2008 12:28AM
playststion forums say wait for email confirmation... I've been waiting forever
Levi @ Nov 6th 2008 9:44PM
oh, and yay premium themes! I heart paying for wallpapers and game-related icons!!
J/k, guys, j/k... Love my PS3, but common... Paying for themes!? Ugh..
Hashbrown Hunter @ Nov 7th 2008 5:52AM
I don't want to start any flamewar or anything and people know that I'm not a flamer, but doesn't the 360 charge you for themes? At least that's what I had thought.
tensider @ Nov 7th 2008 7:24AM
Hashbrown Hunter: Not sure if you're being sarcastic or asking an honest question. The honest answer is that some themes are premium and others free on the 360 (it's up to the publisher). However, there isn't an easy way to import homebrew themes like you can on the PS3
il_duce620 @ Nov 6th 2008 11:20PM
That space suit is the cutest thing I've ever seen. And I've seen Scarlett Johansson in a bikini... This is cuter.
And "yay" MGS4 demo...never played an MGS game before (a sin, I know...) and I'm all about giving it a try...
Titanium_Orchid @ Nov 6th 2008 11:48PM
yay! more people need to play MGS4
Archonyto @ Nov 7th 2008 11:51PM
Yes more people need to play that game...and buy the expansion packs so I can play ranked matches and earn points to buy myself some Otacon glasses. I can go 10 minutes searching for a Ranked match and I'll never find enough people to play with.
MtnManiacX @ Nov 10th 2008 5:42PM
How do you download the LBP costumes?
