Ubisoft apparently agrees with the geek hive mind that Heroes isn't even worth bothering with anymore because the publisher has returned the game rights to NBC Universal, reports MTV Multiplayer. Ubisoft originally announced a game based on the former hit show last July.
It's not exactly clear if the rights were returned due to the show's declining condition, or because Ubisoft was unhappy with the performance of its Lost and CSI based games. There's always a chance another publisher might pick up the rights for the show. Dancing With the Stars got turned into a game, so anything is possible

Well I don't blame them seeing as the show is turning out to be a huge turd.

The show this season is so disappointing, and last season was awful.
What happened between the first and second seasons to make all the writers sucky?

Bryan Fuller left the show as an executive producer to make Pushing Daisies. The man is amazing, but he left the Heroes reins with Jeph Loeb (Smallville) who did not do so well..which is why NBC fired him from his Exec Producer position last week.

Well that explains why Pushing Daisies is so awesome, and uses the guys power to begin the story, rather than use the power as nothing but the story.
Heroes problem is that it has no legs, you can only see so many shows before you start going "Ummm, why doesn't Peter/Hiro just freeze or go back in time here and sort it out" every time something happens.

I don't know why American shows do this. They start out awesome, but they never stop when they should. Lost was a prime example. It should have been two series long, but no, they dragged it out, and it just got so stupid I stopped caring. If they kept it short and snappy, I would have walked away with good memories of it, but how would the studios milk the franchise dry like that huh?
Also, nothing of value was lost. Games based on shows suck from the very start.

Scrubs is another good example of this. Should have ended with the third or fourth season, instead of dragging it out with pointless storylines. It got ridiculous, and now they're just recycling the same storylines they did a few seasons ago.
Loved the show when it started, but now I can't even go back and watch the earlier seasons, because I know how horrible it turns out later..

Sorry, Lost is and has been awesome. It lost its way a bit in early S3, but the fixed end point really gave it some great focus. Season 4 was amazing, and I am eagerly looking forward to the last two seasons.

I agree Lost meandered a bit in the middle seasons, but the show has improved significantly.
Since they officially announced the show will end in 2010, it will give the writers a nice timetable.
But Heroes, that show went down the crapper after the awful season 1 finale. Too bad, it showed potential.

Heh, sounds like I stopped watching Lost just about time it started getting better. My point is still valid tho. Prison break is a better example.

Anime is usually pretty good at keeping things short. Full Metal for the win.

HBO and Showtime do a good job of ending their series before they jump the shark.

You know the Wire is a perfect example of a show that ended at the right time. In all honesty I wish we still had an infinite amount of seasons considering it is my favorite series E-V-A-R!
I think the Shield is a great show and this last season is pretty good but even it has just recycled the same story line. Vic is about to lose his job ... does something illegal and gets credit for it.
The best example of a show that should have ended after the first season - Prison Break.

I think Rome had a good ending too.
I don't know if Californication made it to its second season, but if not, at least it ended on a good note.

The only thing I really liked from season 2 was the samurai arc with hiro. I thought claire and west were alright, but haven't watched anything past ep4? on season 3.
Its like my ass could write better things then what I was watching.

I agree that season 2 was worse. Season 3 though is a big improvement. Not quite to the level of Season 1 yet. Its been slow while they get the pieces into place, but I think people should remember that season 1 started that way. Season 1 didn't really get going until the middle third of the season.
As for Lost, I agree with the above that Season 3 stumbled quite a bit at the beginning, but from the last 5 or 6 episodes of S3 on through Season 4 its been great.
Prison Break... well Season 1 was implausible but really suspenseful. Season 2 was a bit of a lull, but fugitives on the run, that sort of makes sense. Season 3 was an improvement from S2, but started to border on ridiculous. The current season though, number 4, is just ridiculous and boring.

I've never trusted any show after X-Files completely let me down. The second to last episode was about the Brady Bunch.

Shows are better off when they are about a job, city or something else external instead of story lines of specific characters. Thats just my opinion anyway. When a show depends heavily on a small set of characters like Hiro, Claire, Silar etc ... it's not as good as say the wire which was about Baltimore or Law And Order, CSI and even House which is about a hospital.
Maybe that doesn't make much sense but I understand it.

I've been hooked on a lot of series in the last few years.. I'm getting bored of watching Heroes every week now, even though I really enjoyed episode one of season three. It's way too messed up and you can't enjoy a single character cause everyone is bad and good at the same time. The Office still is pretty good, but sometimes I get bored of that too. Scrubs I lost interest in, but I hope to enjoy season 8. Lost I haven't finished the last few episodes of season 4, but I plan to before season 5 comes out. That story is so messed up too. Maybe it's good that my favorite show of all time, Arrested Development was cancelled before it should have been. Kurt Cobain said it right though, it's better to burn out than to fade away. My friend just saw Bob Dylan live and was highly disappointed even though we both sit back and listen to quite a few of his albums together. People try to keep things alive for too long. If Sega would have killed Sonic years ago... We'd stop being so hopeful every time there was a new one.
