Tomorrow, one of the most anticipated titles of the year ships with a sizable bonus regardless of which version you pick up. On top of the ten included multiplayer maps in Gears of War 2, Epic Games has included a download code within each new copy of the game to download five additional maps. Taken from the original Gears of War, the Flashback Map Pack not only adds a dose of nostalgia to the Gears of War 2 multiplayer experience but it keeps the action fresh with new designs for each of the maps in the pack.
The waters of Canals have been frozen, Gridlock has been taken over by lush vegetation, Tyro Station seems to have had an upgrade in tech, Mansion appears more abandoned than ever before and Subway had dried up and now rains pieces of ash from the ongoing war.

Been playing this game for a couple days. Really, really like it. However, on multiplayer, the chainsaw is the bitch weapon of Gears 2. It is no longer the shotgun. You can shoot at a guy who is a couple feet away and he can keep coming at you just revving up the chainsaw, as soon as he is close enough, youre toast.
I hate getting hacked by the chainsaw. I think id rather return to the shotgun being powerful like in Gears 1. In this one, if you are in a close battle, might as well have your chainsaw out. Youll see once you start playing.

In South Africa, none of the LE have the 48hr+ Lancer + Old maps codes in the boxes as far we know. Is this true for other regions?

Been playing since the NZ Midnight release about 8 hours ago, and all the idiots playing Pirated copies were spewing they couldn't use the Limited Editions Golden Weapons or get into games being played on the Flashback Map Pack.
I hate that cheap pricks don't pay their way for my favourite hobbie, but it's great to hear them whinge!

I think the whole point of this code is to deter people who pirate the game. Its the only explination. Pirate game, no unique code, cant play online matchmaking. This might be the xboxs solution to pc cd-keys without blatently throwing cd-keys upon us, but calling them dlc packs. Its win win for them because they trick regular folk into thinking they get free dlc when in reality, their only typing in a cd-key. I wouldnt be surprised if the maps were on the disc itself. Pirate away for 1 player, want multiplayer, buy the game. Just like on pc. And unlike pc, setting up custom servers for multi on pirate copies is just not a possiblity.
I dont have a modded 360 so it does not effect me, but my friend does. Hes forced to buy the game so he can play with me and our other friends online.
