Burnout Paradise goes Back to the Future
Go ahead: Blink twice. Yep, it's still here. You're not dreaming. Now, would somebody please whip up an award for Best DLC Ever? Thanks -- just hand it over to the folks at Criterion Games.
It may be the first time you actually pay for Burnout Paradise DLC, but we're gonna go ahead and put in writing that the Legendary Cars Pack will be well worth your hard-earned PSN money /
. Exhibit A: The DeLorean DMC-12 "Jansen 88 Special" (see above). Time traveling? No*. Hovering? Yes! And be on the lookout for Exhibits B, C & D: The Cavalry Bootlegger, Manhattan Spirit and GT Nighthawk. (One of those has to be codename for the "Tumbler," right?)
[Thanks, Bob]

MowDownJoe @ Nov 7th 2008 1:49PM
GREAT SCOTT!
David @ Nov 7th 2008 1:50PM
Whoa, that's heavy.
Markez @ Nov 7th 2008 1:51PM
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too. Lorraine, if you ever have a kid that acts that way I'll disown you.
Obie @ Nov 7th 2008 2:14PM
How much will it cost?
1.21 Jiggapoints!!
wickedpheonix @ Nov 7th 2008 2:46PM
88 MILES PER HOUR!!!
StrangeBum @ Nov 7th 2008 2:47PM
There's that word 'heavy' again. Is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational pull in the future?
MowDownJoe @ Nov 7th 2008 4:34PM
Personally, I'm amazed I can reuse the same joke and still get such positive results.
Alex @ Nov 7th 2008 5:56PM
MAAARRRTYYY!*
*I said the exact same thing about a week ago.
juju187 @ Nov 7th 2008 7:07PM

JJ Rooster @ Nov 7th 2008 7:34PM
Beat it, spook, this don't concern you!
deaftly @ Nov 7th 2008 1:51PM
Whoa, this is heavy.
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 7th 2008 1:53PM
There's that word again... "heavy".
Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?
&rew @ Nov 7th 2008 2:09PM
The earth's gravity will stay the same, we just get fatter in the future.
Matt Z @ Nov 7th 2008 1:51PM
Where we're going, we don't need roads
MuToiD_MaN @ Nov 7th 2008 4:27PM
Best sequel cliffhanger line EVER? Yes.
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 7th 2008 1:57PM
Well... now I'm going to pick this game today. This Back to the Future thing sold the game to me.
Back to the Future series, together with Ghostbusters, are the movies that I have seen more times in my life...
I have watched Back to the Future at least once a month since I the movie was released in home video.
This is an awesome update =p
borland502 (SDF Macross) @ Nov 7th 2008 2:12PM
Heh. Are you getting it from the PSN?
ChaOS @ Nov 7th 2008 3:14PM
ditto!
I'll be buying the game from PSN tonight.
Courtney @ Nov 7th 2008 10:48PM
I hate to admit it, but this just strikingly increased the odds of me owning Burnout Paradise.
Markez @ Nov 7th 2008 1:57PM
From the Criterion site:
"Fill the gauge and hit boost to trigger burning flame trails from your back wheels. The 88 Special’s fast, manoeuvrable and great in the air.
In fact, if you want to take off, this is just the car for you. Hit L3 to switch to hover mode – the wheels retract and the car takes off and hovers through Paradise City at head height.
Seriously. It hovers."
Nothing up for the other cars in the pack as of yet.
lessthan12parsecs @ Nov 7th 2008 1:58PM
Awesome!
Ok so, Calvary Bootlegger is going to be the General Lee. Manhattan Spirit is still bugging me trying to figure it out. I hope GT nighthawk is the Tumbler
squirtforce @ Nov 7th 2008 2:07PM
Maybe the nighthawk is Knight Rider?
Alex @ Nov 7th 2008 6:17PM
What if there is a secret one that hasn't been announced that is Brum.
Did anybody know Brum? It was a UK thing. Not so sure on any American spin-offs. Or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Snake Robot Podium @ Nov 8th 2008 10:26AM
they said it was a "souped up" jansen p12 on CrashTV. I googled Mongomery GT and got a car that could definitely be souped up into an old an old school Batmobile, but the tumbler. boo.
Snake Robot Podium @ Nov 8th 2008 10:29AM
lol, i meant NOT the tumbler
Double J @ Nov 7th 2008 1:59PM
That, right there, is the power of love.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that the "The Cavalry Bootlegger" is a General Lee knock off.
Sergo @ Nov 7th 2008 2:00PM
I WANT I WANT I WANT!!!
Dirty @ Nov 7th 2008 2:02PM
Tumbler = batmobile?
Dirty @ Nov 7th 2008 2:03PM
oh I fail, vote me down. I should rtfa
Skullfire @ Nov 7th 2008 2:03PM
Manhattan Spirit - Aren't the Ghostbusters located in Manhattan?
Gaucho @ Nov 7th 2008 2:12PM
Agreed. It's 95% def the Ghostbuster's ambulance car. If it has the classic siren I call best DLC pack ever.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Nov 7th 2008 2:03PM
While we're talking about Back to the Future, check out this band called "Mr. Fusion and the Flux Capacitor"...they literally sing about Back to the Future haha.

Dirty @ Nov 7th 2008 2:05PM
I once saw a band named 1.21 jigawatts. Doubt they are still around.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Nov 7th 2008 2:12PM
Nice! I use to see Mr. Fusion everyonce in a while, their shows were great they had homemade shirts with the time circuits and the almanac drawn on them haha.
Felipe @ Nov 7th 2008 2:05PM
i would pay for this. i dont care for the other cars, just give me the delorean.
"If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious shit. "
Gaucho @ Nov 7th 2008 2:05PM
if one of those ends up being the batmobile from 1989's Batman, The Mach 5 from the Speed Racer Series or Inspector Gadget's transforming police car/van thing, I think I'd . . . I'd . . . (sigh) need a kleenex.
GatorSax2010 @ Nov 7th 2008 2:09PM
For the tears of joy, right? RIGHT?
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Welcome Back Party Ultimate Mega Action Force) @ Nov 7th 2008 2:41PM
Please be for the tears...
Gaucho @ Nov 7th 2008 2:50PM
. . . yeah . . . for the tears. . . . can you throw this tissue out?
lessthan12parsecs @ Nov 7th 2008 2:10PM
GREAT SCOTT!!! I figured it out!!!
Manhattan Spirit is ECTO 1!!!
Gaucho @ Nov 7th 2008 2:17PM
Skullfire beat you to it man.
343 Guilty Fart @ Nov 7th 2008 2:11PM
Ronald Reagan? The actor??
ryan @ Nov 7th 2008 2:17PM
Old man peebody.
&rew @ Nov 7th 2008 2:15PM
F-Zero, I'm sorry, we don't need you anymore. You too Wipeout.
Makoto99 @ Nov 7th 2008 2:18PM
I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet.... but your kids are gonna LOVE it.
tenaku @ Nov 7th 2008 2:20PM
My guesses:
Cavalry Bootlegger = General Lee from Dukes of Hazard
Manhattan Spirit = ECTO1 from Ghost Busters
GT Nighthawk = KITT from Knight Rider
