A new month means a new issue of EGM, which means a whole new batch of rumors in their infamous Quartermann column. This edition features two things of note for PS3 fans.
First is a rumor about Cliff Bleszinski's new game. Having just finished Gears 2, many are wondering: what's next? Well, his next game may be a survival horror game, which promises to mix the visceral feel of Gears with psychological terror. Even more exciting: the next game may be a multiplatform title, allowing PS3 fans a chance to finally play one of his games.
In addition, EGM is also continuing the rumors about a possible Disney partnership for LittleBigPlanet. The rumor mill suggests a Disney DLC pack will arrive in 2009, and it will include a playable version of the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie (pictured above).

I'd love any DLC for Littlebigplanet. The concept of running Mickey through some of the Sackboy Hells I have created makes me giggle.

wasn't unreal tournament one of his games?
I don't know, anyway, i'm excited he's making a/another game for ps3!
Hopefully he'll make an exclusive on too.

OOH so exciting... A Cliffyb game for PS3..
/sarcasm off
seriously.. not that great...
And about the disney thing.. i can't help but think the new online console gaming world is turning into nothing but a world of micro transactions, sure Proto-man is cool, but something that could have been so easily made as an Unlock or a challenges reward in the game it self.
Sure LBP has tons of free content, but i dont think im ready to hop on the DLC dollar store bandwagon yet...

Agreed. I think it was the more-expensive-than-the-actual-music Rock Band DLC that really made start thinking about it. Updating a game to keep it fresh and respond to consumers' requests is one thing, but adding DLC because a developer is lazy or just wants to make money... Shady McShadersen.

Although I agree that some of this stuff should be included on the disc if it was obviously developed during the making of the game (like Proto Man and so on), you do always have the option not to buy DLC. DLC is only a rip off if you buy it and feel ripped off. No one is making you buy it. If you are obsessive-compulsive and must own everything about a game, well, don't blame the developer for that, blame yourself.

they should release themed downloads (cloths, objects, enemies, etc) not just a playable character for $9.99
Also... i think the team behind gears going multiplatform is sweet! its the only game i find atractive to the 360. They should take the silent hill serie i would buy from them without thinking.

Isn't Gears of War Bleszinski's only 360 IP? And are we ignoring the fact that his other big IP, Unreal Tournament, lead on PS3?

He was lead designer on Gears, didn't work on UT. Although it doesn't really matter, Epic games are more of collaborative effort than individual designers' work.

Anyone over 13 who ends their name with "_iffy [last name initial]" is a jackass. Cliffy B is case and point. The question this, is calling himself Cliffy B the reason he is a jackass, or is he a jackass, therefore he calls himself Cliffy B?

I'd say that the Gears 2 singleplayer is much much better then Resistance 2s.
But Resistance 2 has better multiplayer, and it's co-op is better then Gears2s Horde mode.

Gears 2 is nice. I'm about to go get it today for my lil brother (ill be playing it also no doubt). As of 2008, saying that the "Blu-ray player" doesnt have any games is false. That certain "Blu-ray Player" made KZ2,LBP, and MGS4 possible. Both system have their games. You're just another blind fanboy.

Please keep Disney sh*t out of LBP. Disney is the biggest whore in the entertainment world and I am tired of their constant drive to attempt to market everything with their brand. There is no reason for Disney to insert their sh*t in LBP and I am actually dissapointed that Media Molecule feels the need to sell out to Disney. The game gets a 9.999 out of 10 just for this. But if Disney starts forcing High School Musical crap into LBP, it will get a 0 out of 10 AND I will buy a freaken XBox too.

Errrr... it's DLC, if you don't like it- DON'T BUY IT. Not everyone in the world shares the same opinions and tastes as you.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're a 14-15 year old male who thinks he is way too cool for Disney and that's why you don't want it anywhere near LBP.

Having bought both games this week. RE2 doesnt "own" anything....Its great in its own right, but own is something it doesnt do. Playing RE2 1st i thought the same thing it throws you right into the sh*t. graphics looks great targeting/weapons are spot on. but when gears came on it was completely different. unless youve played both you wouldnt understand. and not every one has had RROD. Im not gonna lie until RE2 the ps3 has been off for like 3 months. and most people that own both say the same. if not just for the achievements most will get a xbox version over the ps3. trophies just dont seem important unless you just got a ps3.

I dont mind the Disney DLC since my daughter also plays LBP. It wouldnt hurt LBP to have different kinds of contents since its a game for all ages and if you dont like then dont download it. Media Molecule is just trying to make LBP accessible to everybody even kids so i dont think that its a bad move. I can already imagine my little girl dressing up her sackgirl with a Minnie Mouse outfit hehe. Please bear in mind that LBP was made for everybody and LBP has something wether for the casual gamer or the ones who like to be creative. DLC is always optional and the more content LBP has the more succesful it will be.

Can we please talk about the topic at hand here. But regarding gears and resistance i played both games and found gears to be more appealing to me (minus the story). But it doesnt mean that resistance isnt a good game, I mean what works for me doesnt work for other people so i wont force my opinion on others because people have the right to play whatever they want. Im a ps3 fan but that doesnt give me the right to bash the other guys console just because its the 'competition' or 'im just defending my investment'....blah blah blah. Ive been a console gamer and pc gamer since 1982 and i dont really mind having multiple systems cause i get to experience a lot of different type of games and each system will always give you something the other lacks. Without any competition gaming would definitely go bland, so be grateful that there are three competing consoles and each company is trying to do their best to try to offer something good which means that better games will always come out in the end as a result. Peace to all gamers.
