So I guess this means that Master of the Monster Lair defied all of our expectations and sold more than four copies? I mean, this game is fairly similar in that the player alters the terrain around them to gain advantages against enemies. From the looks of it, MWMW basically just replaces the lairs with open fields and the guy protagonist with a girl. I hope the game is actually good and not just another instance of Atlus preying on the impulse of people who see the boxart and think the game will be cute and quirky and animu.

That appeal certainly helped with Izuna

I liked Izuna.

But I do have an obscene amount of patience, which did help.

P.S. Izuna 2 has permanently dropped to $20 at Gamestop, if any of you were interested. I liked it on the merits of its gameplay (roguelike lite), so I might pick it up next month, provided they have a copy with the Shino-sis poster on the inside of the cover.

Wait, did I just make a hypocrite out of myself for that last line?

I haven't gotten Master of the Monster Lair, but it and this game sound really interesting. I'll probably eventually pick up a copy, even though Monster Lair had a mediocre Meta Critic score. I find that such niche games usually get mediocre scores *coughHarvestMooncough*. So I'm not too concerned with the reviews. I will probably watch a few gameplay videos before I make the final decision through. I love Atlus ^^

Does anyone remember that great episode of MST3K, "San Fransisco International", where the smarmy guy goes "My job, my way"?
