According to an alleged source close to the developer, Canada-based Blue Castle Games is secretly (or not so secretly, if there's any truth to this) constructing the sequel to Capcom's mall zombie slaughterfest, Dead Rising. Speaking to the folks at Eurogamer -- they've covered console wars, you know -- the source claims that the Western team "can't wait to show off the game."
Blue Castle, more known for its work on ball-and-stick game The Bigs, currently lists an "unannounced Action title" on its website, designating it as an "amazing" project for multiple platforms. We have, of course, requested comment from both the developer and Capcom. Given how talkative companies usually are about unannounced and potentially nonexistent games, we fully expect to have a release date, screenshots and the inevitable cliffhanger ending before the afternoon's out.

Please change the save system. The original is so frustrating some times. And please no more Otis!

I don't understand all the hate for the save system. If you died, your stats just carried over and made you stronger for when you restarted.
As for the rumor, I hope it's true. Loved the first and have played it probably 8 times. I will agree with Smoke_Dawg that they need to make Otis STFU.

The save system is great. It's just like any save-location system on hundreds of PC games. I LIKE that it doesn't autosave every 500m because I can fuck around a lot more, which is really necessary in the game.

Please DONT change the save system. I loved DR the way it was, not the way the crappy Wii version was gimped down. Part of the excitement came from having a sense of actual threat and the time limits.

When I heard they were making DR2 I told one of the dev's pals "Tell him to fix the save system." and he laughed and said, "That's what everyone says!"
I didn't mention the text for SD tv's though.

I don't like new developers with no resumes. Is there anyone in charge there who has done a significant non-EA game?

"Faaaaantastic 10-PP" tag is the shit Kietzmann, except it needs to be tagged onto future posts relating to Dead Rising now too so this isn't the only one that pops up.
I wish I could leave work and go play the original for the day. Nothing like some zombie slaughter to relieve some stress.

Damn, please be true. One of the few recent games that I've gone back through and played again. So much fun. As long as the no name developers don't screw it up...

I don't think it was the save system that was the problem but the time limit on certain tasks. For a game that lends itself to some mindless grinding, it was frustrating to have to run to the other side of the mall becasue it was getting close to 2PM or whatever.
Great game otherwise.

Super-old post reply:
I want to state clearly for the record I was bugging him about their next game and he refused to tell me what it was. He didn't tell me what they were making, only to 'shut up!'
In retrospect I realized much later that I must have been bugging him about this game.

This is one of the few games on the 360 I've gone back to several times to pursue some of the harder Achievements. Not because I'm huge on completing cheevos, but because they gave me new goals and an excuse to continue screwing around in the world.
Please do a good job.
