Houser unsure if GTA IV DLC will release this year

Despite Microsoft's reassurances, a delay to early next year wouldn't be wholly unexpected, with the rumor mill spewing forth a January or February release date. Really, though, does anybody have time for another romp through Liberty City when there's Sera, The Ishimura, Africa and our imaginations to visit?

Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Dead Space, Fallout 3, Valkyrie Chronicles, GTA 4 PC, Chrono Trigger DS, man I'm loving this year so much I could wait for DLC untill later on. Though why is it taking so long for a game released back in April though? Oh well better late and close perfection then early and close to crappy.

Do you not think its odd that you don't wanna go back into Librity City for the 360 DLC.....you'd rather buy the game again for the PC...play it and then buy the DLC in jan or feb??

What do you expect? When was the last time Rockstar didn't delay something to perfect it?
It's a love hate relationship. I love that everything is near perfect on release. I hate I have to wait longer.

And along those lines, what is it!? It's been shrouded in mystery for months, almost a year I think, and we still don't know what it is.
Couldn't care less at this point.

Its been a year i think since the dlc was announced, maybe a bit more, cuz i think it was announced in 07 way before the release of gta4.

I don't even care anymore. I'm too busy with Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, etc to go back to Liberty City. Great game as it was, I've moved on...

This is absolutely ridiculous, many have moved on from GTA4 to all the other blockbusters that have come out and are coming out. We'll probably forget all about the DLC unless its truly amazing, at least give us the details on it damn!
And I hope it comes to the PC version. :)

you'd think that with how many copies this game sold, that they would have been pumping out the DLC, regardless of what it actually was. I mean, sure they made tons of money off this game, but it's not like they couldn't have been making more.
Now, if it comes out a year later, people won't give a damn.

It coming out on PS3 first. The contract on exclusive release ends in 2008 for XBox.

A delay seems inevitable considering they haven't even been talking about the contents of the DLC yet. If they had a release date ready I would expect to see them dropping videos or previews or something.
I really hope its worth the wait, though. I spent a lot of time in GTA IV and with decent expansion material I wouldn't mind going back for a while.

I suspect this is a tactical decision to keep people holding on to their copy of the game instead of flooding the used market. Sure, DLC money is nice, but maintaining sales of NEW copies of GTA4 through the holidays is the real goal.
