I was just thinking to myself "Man, X3F has had absolutely zero Gears 2 coverage"

It's posts like these that I see on here, Joystiq, even WoW insider that just annoy me.

I wish you all would stick to the new stuff, not rehashing.

We compiled it all into a page. Thought we should tell the millions of people searching "Gears of War 2" throughout our network.

Egads - This really is the 10 minute generation!

I'm not that old, but for the love of everything that is holy, there's been a 2 year wait for this game, it JUST released on Friday - and they want to talk about it on Monday, but no - it's "too old" - gotta move on to that other new stuff.

Oy!

I understand wanting the new and cool, but seriously - give it SOME time

@ Nick:

The problem I have is this is a rehash post. They're rehashing old news to put it on top. They (all the affiliates) then do a weekly rehashing and other similar posts... like weekly releases.. that just aren't needed.

I don't care what people are "searching" for. That's the point of searching and meta tagging, so you hit a button (link) and everything related to that search (tag) comes up.

It's post wasting IMHO and honestly seems like it's a post for the sake of posting something.

You going to mention the lack of 4-player split screen in Horde mode?

You going to mention the fact that online multiplayer is BALLS... I have never waited so long to get into a game.

Thanks Xav! I can't wait to play when I get off work; sometimes I wish I didn't have a job, but I guess I wouldn't be able to afford my games if I didn't!

Please...no more Gears...it's bad enough to have multiple posts in a row about this over-hyped game...but this amount of coverage makes me want to gouge my eyes out...

Please...

Here's a tiny thought.

Don't read posts on gears.

If you don't like it, don't read it. Simple as that.

Mind, every game has whiners. Castle Crashers was the same thing.

I doubt, DOUBT PS3 fanboys were whining about Little Big Planet, which is still being talked about.

Y'all make me ashamed to be an Xbox fanboy

Pardon me for not liking half of the content on the first page to be Gears-related.

Is it too much to ask to have equal time given to all game-related news? I think not.

And lucky for you I'm not a fanboy, but someone who wants equal and unbiased reporting of games and game-related news.

You make me ashamed to be a gamer.

all weekend long there was next to nothing about Gears.

If this was 2 weeks from now, your argument may hold merit. But the game just freakin' came out.

There are two (2) posts about gears today. That's all. The rest focus on other things.

If there were 10 posts, maybe. But this is one of the biggest cames to come out this year, NOT mentioning it or giving it a decent amount of focus would be doing it a disservice. Just because you don't want info on it, doesn't mean that others don't.

I'm actually surprised multiple topics haven't been brought up as noted by the Epic forums. They could have had a post about the Gold Lancer issues, they could have had a post about the dislike of the new MP - but instead they put 2 posts. One about the launch in Toronto, and one that links to the hub for information, so that it keeps it condensed.

they made it so that they did not HAVE to have 1000 posts about Gears.

Are you oblivious to that?

Oh wow, thanks for pointing out today's GoW post count to me.

But, yeah, let's just live in your fantasy world where the other days and mounds of posts stacked on top of each other don't count.

Sounds like someone is a little too eager to be right. Sorry to disappoint.

We already reported on the Lancer download issue. I think people are blowing this out of proportion. If you aren't down with the Gears 2 stuff we've been doing then scroll up or down or ignore.

There really isn't much we can recommend for you to do at this point. The game just came out, we had a lot of exclusive content that our staff worked hard on and we compiled it onto a page for all of our readers (which goes beyond a handful of commenters) to find easily.

Don't like Gears or feel overrun with the game then ignore it.

Perhaps I'm just asking for a compiled page on all big games BEFORE-hand, so we wouldn't HAVE to ignore posts.

I don't think it's that unreasonable an idea, and I'm sure I'm not the only one sick of seeing this game. It's like going to engadget in the days surrounding any Apple event - it's just a blowout of information that the normal reader (especially those who care nothing for the event) doesn't care to read. Shouldn't it be the people who want to know more have to dig deeper? Right now the people who have no interest in the current GoW binge have to ignore posts and sometimes whole pages just to get to other news...seems somewhat broken in my opinion.

So I know this doesn't have to do with the GAME GoW2 but I got the lancer through Amazon and no sound! I read on their website you have to put a piece of foil/a paperclip/something metal for the battery connections.

I thought GoW2 is great. About a third or halfway done with campaign, can't wait to finish it.

Xav - if the Gears page is a compilation of previous coverage, maybe you should say "GoW2 Coverage Page" instead of just page. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!

Anyone know of a place where you can bitch about this game? I swear every reviewer of it is completely biased because it's eye candy, but there are so many things wrong with this game... it's everything bad about Gears 1 with a new, somehow less intriguing story.

Although ultimately we enjoyed the game we did point out issues we had with the game. While the review did not include multiplayer (online) details, we will have a round-table discussion about the problems people have with multiplayer.

As long as i never have to see a Tool Human banner again ill never complain about new launch coverage. dyack and his stupid loot.

does anyone know if i buy the flashback map pack for my rental if it can be transferred between different copies of gears 2.

i wanna buy it later on but i dont wanna risk not getting gridlock cause i waited. im not sure if the game will update like gears 1 did with the hidden fronts map pack..

i need gridlock; ive barely played multi-player because i cant play on my favorite map yet.

Gridlock is there, as well as Canals, the mansion.. and 2 others I can't remember the names of, I got the maps in the box, on a piece of paper - think it's where buying 1st hand comes into play - A really good idea..
on top of that, the achievements are better being less restricted to ranked multiplayer.. got a few games with unachievable chieves because they're dead online
