I saw it while out and about this weekend, that's for sure. Lots of them in fact. Expect them to hit the Target clearance rack soon.

BTW, anybody else regularly hit up the Target clearance section? I got Pure for $40 two weeks after release!

I want to play Mirror's Edge and Banjo Kazooie, but lucky for me, I'll probably be able to pick up both of them for about half the price by the time I could possibly even finish with Fallout and Gears.

The Wii's library must be wayyyyyy past 360's by now. Every-single-fucking-week, theres a plethora of shovelware. If PS360 gets 10 games, the Wii gets 20.

"You're killin me Smalls!!!"

FaceBreaker K.O. Party
Pop Star Guitar
Imagine: Party Babyz
Mortimer Beckett and the Secrets of Spooky Manor
Block Party
Guiness World Records: The Videogame
Hasbro Family Game Night
Big League Sports
Monkey Mischief: Party Time
Bratz Kidz: Slumber Party

It's fun cherry-picking out the three good titles, huh?

(good might be stretching it for Lightsaber duels, but that game will probably beat expectations handily)

If he put the good title in there you would have been defending them as not being shovelware.

Khan

Umm, yeah that was the point. Out of all those titles, you only have maybe a baby handful, lol of good ones. How can you even defend this? Turible, just plain turible....

I'm just happy that we've reached the 37th consecutive week with someone releasing a game for the Wii/DS with the letter "Z" in place of the plural "S".

Thanks for that. Now not only do I have to look at shovelware releases on Wii everyweek but I'll be keeping a close eye on the Z thing lmao!

So how many Bratz games are there between the Wii and DS? I swear every single time I look at one of those lists I see one.

Yes, but though the bad titles are there, nobody is under any obligation to buy them

A PS2 release list five years ago would have looked the same

But the difference was they still had a constant stream of amazing games. The Wii gets a handful (if that) of actual epic games. You can count them on two hands.

Tales indeed. Too bad Sonic comes out next week and i won't have time, and then there's christmas and the godsends of 2009, so it will probably never happen :(

Ah well, till then, i'm still taken with the antics of the underseas pirate Jonathan Jones

But Khan you recognize yourself that the Wii is essentially a terd factory as far as games. It's not just judged by the shovelware but when you have to actually look each week to find a mediocre game it's not a good thing. Essentially, if Nintendo didn't make it there is a 99% chance it's pure garbage.

(this was for your reply a few spaces down BTW)

I think that what hurts the Wii the most is the lack of big budget 3rd party exclusives the PS3 & 360 get. I don't think the motion controls work great in all games but in the few that have been right it made it a better experience. Imagine if the Wii had Fallout 3 with precise motion controls.

I've hated on the Wii allot for it's lack of quality software. However, I have come to the realization that most of the games aren't for me. That epiphany has made me enjoy the games that are for me that much more. At this point the Wii is number 2 for me while the 360 is in last place. I have come to appreciate the system for what it is instead of what I want it to be. It's a casual system I can enjoy with my entire family. That's actually refreshing. So, if you take it into context and understand that these horrible amounts of shovel ware actually give young gamers and kids something to play it's not a bad thing.

I'm looking forward to COD, although I've made a vow to only buy it if it comes out on Steam. I also am eagerly awaiting my chance to play the demo of Left 4 Dead. I want to play it before I buy it, even though it's a near guarantee that I'll love it.

Yay for Mirror's Edge. So, the WoW expansion comes out this week? Didn't know as I don't follow that game. I don't know how I'm going to manage playing all these releases! I need more than 24 hours in a day dammit.

Khan, he cherrypicked out the good titles because he was making a comment on shovelware...

That was an acknowledgement of the 'good' titles...

Well my dad got my Wii as a hand-me-down after Galaxy, so I'm probably biased anyway, however I do understand how you can be paranoid about criticism as a Wii owner.

It's not about a reactionary attitude towards criticism, it's about dismantling bullshit

It might be a problem if that were all that was on the list, but it isn't, so the point should be moot, but people like to figure that, somehow, a great system is devalued by its shovelware

A fallacy of an argument if there ever was one

It is amazing to me. Every week the Wii outsells both the 360 and ps3 by huge margins. yet each week, all it sees is massive amounts of shovelware. Meanwhile, for the last month at least, the other two systems are getting fantastic new releases.

Let's not forget the outrageous release numbers for the DSi in its first week in Japan (outsold all other systems combined).

I am beginning to think that Nintendo is not a game company, but a religion, whose ultimate goal is to enslave the masses and gain control of their pocketbooks.

Oh well, enough moaning for me. I'm off to go pick up my copy of Bratz Kidz: Slumber Party I have had on preorder for the last two months.

I'd imagine if PS3 and 360 weren't prohibitively expensive to develop for, they would see the shovelware too, but no one would complain about it crowding out the good releases

heh. el sepiente i agree with you
I have a four year old daughter, and every time she sees something with Dora, a princess or anything else cute and cuddly, she begs me to get it for her.

Shes too young to understand gameplay and what it means. and i know there are many of parents who don't game who are equally oblivious.

as much as I don't want to admit that the Wii is meant for kids, when I look at all the games I have bought for it, versus what resides on my PS2 and PS3 it is obvious who the market is.

I finally got my hands on the Mirror's Edge demo last night (damn Live Silver restrictions). Put my pre-order on the game today (it doesn't come out in Canada until Wednesday due to tomorrow being Remembrance Day).

I can't remember the last time I wanted a game so badly.

World at War - buy later used
Mirror's Edge - maybe a rental

Why?

Gears 2/Far Cry 2/Fable 2/LBP/SOCOM/L4D soon/Resistance 2/Saints Row 2/Dead Space/Fallout 3

And WipEout HD continues to consume me.

I have all those too and throw in GH:WT & Rock Band 2. Subtract Saints Row 2 and add Naruto PS3 & Valkyria Chronicles. I bought COD WAW but am thinking of not opening it and returning it for L4D, Mirrors Edge or Prince Of Persia. It's my last allowable game purchases this year :( ... My fiance and I came to an agreement and I can only get one more this year and am allowed no more until Killzone 2 & Resident Evil 5 next year.

I would love to play Legendary if I wasn't convinced it was total garbage. Love the story elements and mythology.
