Top 5 LBP levels of the week: a call for nominations

We're on the lookout for awesome LittleBigPlanet levels for an upcoming feature. We're doing our best to scour the community levels to find the cream of the crop, but we need your help. If you've made a level you think is particularly great or if you've played any that blew you away, let us know. We'll be doing a weekly rundown of the top five levels, so keep sending them in as you find them from now on.

There are no restrictions; no minimum hearts or views and we don't mind mind levels based on other games, but anything you send in has to be awesome. Send your nominations to us via the following address: LBP @ PS3Fanboy.com with the name of the level in the subject line. We'll credit everyone whose suggestions we use.

ditto, that was hard in the beginning, but super creative and calaborative.

That one was really really creative.

World Of Color is another awesome one. I'll have to go home and look at my fav's...

Oh, I totally forgot about the Haunted Mansion! I think it's by the same guy that did World of Colour and God of War.

Too bad it might be deleted by tomorrow morning.

Thats for sure part way throught the level I was wondering if I was even playing LBP!!

pretty fun level.

This one is going to be hard...because i only count 3.
Azure Palace is the only one that i remember by name because its really nice. There was another level with the name "world of colours" or something like that...

and my level :P "GravityCastle" lol i only have like 15 views but i think it does have something that other levels have like if you cant find it add me "xJERSESx"

I made a level called Barnyard Blitz and got done with it yesterday. Its in the same spirit of Media Molecule levels, i.e, there's a (senseless) story about it and a final boss. Its exponentially more fun with 2 or more players. At first I was told it was extremely difficult by my fellow testers. So I had to revise it a little bit (smaller spikes, etc). Be sure to try it out! My PSN ID is Rusted01, feel free to add mois!

As for other levels, Azure palace is wonderful and expertly done. But the level takes away the platforming fun by putting you on jets for the entirety. Its still darn good fun! So thats my choice for #1. World of Color is pretty cool too.

Don't think it is top 5 material (there are some amazing levels out there) but I'd like some feedback/plays of my level:

I created LitteBIGGodzilla attacks! v2 and it's around middle USA. I don't think it's gonna be one of the Top 5, but it's my second try to do something in LBP :)

It should go without saying... but libdius.jp by rrr30000 deserves the top spot, hands down.

Most definitley. I remember Alex Evans saying that he wanted to see a level that looked like it wasn't even made in LBP... I think this is it... the Sackboy is completely hidden and apart from some string and the familiar sound effects it's a completely different game.

There was a level called Toilet Trouble made by someone who posted on here, Lukeanddeidre I think his name is. But I played that level and thought it was really cool, although when I played it with 4 people we managed to break it right at the start with all the bombs ^^

My level is called Care-verfield, PSN name WolfLogic. It's fun and funny, and I'm told it's fun with co-op.

As far as other peoples levels go, I'm afraid that "World of Color" and "Shadow of the Collosus(sp?)" are drastically overrated. Anyone agree?

the gladiators level deserves a mention, its hella fun.
Tetrin too is pretty good, its like a polished version of the tetris level from the beta

the spelunking levels by menetheal!

I really liked the "Escape from Alcatraz" level, and the "LittleBigBasketball" one, even if it could have done better, with only one ball and with more intriguing rules. Also, "Garden v 1.1" was nice, nearly as "World of Colours".. Even if the last one it's too much empty: more fantasy in this scenarios! >_>

And of course "Libidus.jp". Awesome creation!

LittleBigBasketball is a great concept. But it definitely needs work.

I'm creating my own version of it where you actually have to throw the balls, and adding a bit more polish.

I wrote in and nominated "You are the Sun". It's a very challenging level that requires a lot of precision. It has a nice aesthetic to boot. I wanted to nominate my level "dada", but it'd feel weird nominating myself. :S

Cool idea, I had a lot of trouble finding fun, remotely complete levels online for the game, I had some help here though.

Not sure about weekly.

I can't take credit for something I didn't make, but "Worst LBP level EVER!" by Moosehole is ironically the best LBP level I've played to date.

I hope i get my almost super-amazing level finished soon, but I'm not going to rush it.

This is a GREAT idea guys!! I'd have to go with "From Heaven To Hell", that level is freaking awesome! I'd be too modest not to throw in my own levels which I think are pretty damn good.... "Mission To Mars" and "The Great Pyramid", both are aesthetically appealing imo and both have boss battles. Hope you guys like...

You mean top LBP levels that are still there? Horay, for signing away your right to intellectual creations! I think Microsoft should make it so that nothing you create in Windows, Word, or any MS software belongs to them; companies that make sound and video editors should own the rights to all music and movies produced; the world would be a better place.

anyone can parody without using others' graphics (like the batman logo for instance) or naming it "spiderman" "batman" or "super mario" ... right?

i'm only saying i agree with MM that it isn't fair to copy a super mario level verbatim, i only hope they haven't removed things that were only imitating familiar game play like "braid" did on xbox... mario game play but not named "mario"

Oh, shut it already. I'm sick and tired of all the 'tribute' levels, and most of them are pure crap. MM/Sony have already commented to say the will request that the author make specific changes before republishing from now on.

Anything they do to promote original content is much appreciated in my view. So put your wet blanket away for Krissake...

My level that I worked hard on

Possibly unrelated, but am I the only one who doesn't really like the UI for finding other people's levels? I kind of wish it were more streamlined or minimalistic, maybe with simple tables. Then maybe it would be easier to find specific levels. (For example, maybe you could search for a specific tag, and then get a list of levels sorted alphabetically by title or by author.) And how about a table sorted by popularity? You could get an easy list of what level is #1 Hearted, and other things. That would be good to know for Top 5 lists...

Also, in really unrelated news, ONE time I booted up LBP and they told me that my Play, Create, and Share levels had increased. (See InfoMoon.) Before then, they were all zero. Since then, they are all zero. What's up with that anyway?

Sorry for "ranting." It's just that I think LBP is a great game, though I feel like some of the UI can be confusing.

Completely agree. I liked the UI they had in an old video better than the Planet UI.
