I refer you to John Gabriel's Greater Internet F***wad Theory, which reads as such:

"Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total F***wad"

It's sad, but true. I get a lot of crap on Live on account of my English accent. The mute button is my friend. My only response to someone being a tool is "Congratulations Proffessor - you've just won a muting". Then I hit the mute button so I can't hear their no-doubt witty and charming response.

I don't mean to sound inconsiderate or rude I am also a female gamer been gaming almost 15 years. Anyway maybe it is my age but i just ignore them you will find guys feel they have to prove something they will bullier or push down anyone who seems like an easily target and being anonymous on line against a female is like finding gold to a bulli of a guy. Mute is your friend use it ruthlessly and quickly. Report them as well and just accept that is the gaming world. Xbox when you report them will put them on a less desired list so you wont be matched with them and after a while you run into less and less jerks just be burtle with your ignore and reporting. playing with freinds and thier freinds also helps.

Yeah, same here. I got so tired of the immature losers spouting off at every chance. I'm actually glad Gears has bots, it lets me get a multi-player fix without dealing with the "community".

There is a girl on my Friends List that kicks my ass at Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and I'm not a crap player.

If your good at games, your good at them, gender makes no difference.

Also Halo 3 is consistently full of wankers.

You know what REALLY sucks? I like to use the headset because I want to WIN. It's really hard to win when no one on your team gives you the 411 on what's going down.

But on the other hand, I hate going deaf in an ear because some little kid is singing or screaming into the mic. Then you get people who are already cussing or something as soon as you connect on social slayer.

I don't care if you're male, female, 60, or 6. If you're a badass at Halo, you can always play with me.

I'm quite doubtful that there was any collateral damage in this recent wave of bannings. A (few) thousand or so out of how many millions of systems that connect to XBOX Live? There's little doubt that Microsoft was targeting something specific here, this was hardly a shotgun banning of any systems that didn't look "right".

I have little sympathy for some kid who grabbed some Saints Row 2 torrent, burned it to his modded 360 that Mommy bought for him, and then whines when his system is banned from the service.

I only wish they'd take these steps more often.

A lot of the people who play halo online are creeepy.

Not most, not all, just a lot. Its really annoying.

But I also don't like the little kids that come on that are like 12 and don't know what they are doing. Or the people who make maps where one person constantly wins.

I've never understood why people feed the trolls in multi-player matches. Muting someone isn't that difficult to do, but if it was a little less hidden it'd be nice too.

I can't really believe some of the verbal tactics used by people, no doubt still in grade or middle school. I'm not prude by any stretch of the imagination, but blathering incessantly about the hygiene, sexual-orientation, and promiscuity of someone you've never met before is just dumbfounding.

Talking trash is one thing, bigotry is another.

(I'll be taking your pot-shots now.)

Generally, I mute everybody except friends. That is through the privacy settings on the dash. I don't expand my friends list, but I only keep people on it I know personally anyways, so the whole little kid swearing thing doesn't affect me.

Halo 3 lobbys.. I usually end up muting half of them..
yesterday someone quit during a Horde game.. kept asking how you play the game...!? :S I think you should lose a star when they quit matches.. or someone with a lot of bad rep, when they review someone, its means less.. puting all the douche's together.. so maybe then I can find some decent games when I bother...

I have terrible rep, but I'm not a terrible person. When I first started playing, I wasn't very good. And being a Kiwi a lot of American's singled me out. Especially on Gears of War 1. They would rip me down constantly, and eventually, bad rep me too.

I don't even talk on the mic anymore, making it pretty hard to make people like me enough to good rep me.

If I was grouped together with people are are genuinly jerks because of my bad rep I wouldn't be impressed.

To the lovely lady involved in the last question. I'm sorry to hear your problems and experiences over Xbox LIVE. There are some really rude people that you should not have to deal with especially when they degrade you for being a woman.

Join myself (gamertag: DSight) at Xbox.com's General Discussion folder in the thread "Xbox.com Community Game Night". Its a thread hosted by me where you can find a lot of great people to play with and enjoy games over Xbox LIVE without the hassle and annoyances of rude people.

Here is the link to that thread: http://forums.xbox.com/23184761/ShowPost.aspx

Not sure if I misunderstood the wording, but the green controller is not exclusively available as a bundle with PES 2009. In fact, I've yet to see such a bundle. We have, however, had a massive amount of green controllers (packaged just like the white or black ones), along with green play-and-charge kits and battery packs.

As for the d-pad, it does feel a little more responsive, but I can't tell if it's because of the hardware, or because it's much newer and therefore less worn than my original pads.

To the girl gamer ... I too hate the riff raff on xbox live and I will usually berate them like the children they are...
here is a true story... I ended up in a griff ball match and my team ended up being a bunch of racist rednecks dropping the Nbomb and ridiculing the opposing team who were obviously black... I berated the racists and they promptly lquit... then the opposing team threw me a couple of White mofo comments and they promptly quit the game... leaving me alone and confused... and then laughing. Hopefully my pitiful situation makes you laugh... It does me...

Is there a solution to the "in order for me to connect to live I had to disconnect it from the router. " My friend has the same problem. Works fine when attached to the cable modem, but not to a router -- I've tried at least 4 routers.

Any help would be appreciated.

What step gave you an error when running the XBL diagnostic?

Based on setting up other people's networks, my money is on either the IP settings or the router's built-in firewall.

I've been told pretty often that I'm one of the last truly chivalrous men and this translates into my gaming as well. Whenever I hear someone trashing a woman for no other reason than that she's a woman, I have a way of making them feel two inches tall for their behavior. I can turn a whole room against someone who's speaking hatefully for any or no reason at all. I don't know why I always jump to a woman's defense, though there could be multiple reasons for it. I consider sex and, therefore, the opposite sex as something sacred that shouldn't be taken for granted. For this reason, I choose abstinence until marriage. On the contrary, pop culture teaches men that sex is something that should be a regular occurrence and if you go a couple months without it, something must be wrong with you. 40 Year Old Virgin had a good message on this subject, with peer pressure being symbolic of pop-culture. There could also be the sub-conscious desire to impress a woman and attempt to win her heart. The worst scenario for me would be the subconsicous belief that women are the weaker sex. This motivation could be the same as those who trash-talk women. Some like to pick on the weak and others like to defend them. While I KNOW that women are not weak, sometimes a person's heart can believe differently than their head. Overall, the same reasons I choose to defend women could help to diagnose why others choose to put them down. They like to run with the crowd and side with pop-culture on every turn, they think that verbal abuse makes them sound tough (some men say you have to treat a woman like dirt every once-in-a-while to make them want you), and, again, they like picking on the weak. Just remember that whenever a man does this to you, they're compensating a weak mind or another shortcoming. God bless you and live and play well.

You cried? It might be a little selfish but i find it quite annoying personaly when i join a game and someone is bashing a woman for being a woman. I don't care about the girl i just care about the fact that i have to listen to some fat kid whine for female attention. Retarded little kids, damn parents need to do their job.

I don't know why they can't segregate the community by the "type" of gamer you select. You know, Recreation, Family, etc. I think that would solve some of the problem.

I understand that they say this is difficult but when I'm paying for Live, I think they should feature some things that make gaming more enjoyable.

I mean seriously, it's an essential feature for a paying service: filtering out people you don't want to play with: i.e 12 year olds
