Good points. I was a big pistol-whipping/frag-tagging fan, though. The shotgun just frustrated me.

I had an issue in the solo Campaign with my Lancer... There was a point where a Sniper Rifle was available to pick up and I accidentally traded my lancer for it instead of my shotgun.

Right after I picked up the Sniper, a cut scene unfolded and my Lancer completely disappeared. I didn't get a Lancer back for another couple of hours, a few chapters later when I just started a new level with one in my hands. The MOST frustrating thing was watching the cutscenes, in the meantime, showing my character holding the lancer.

Not sure what that was all about, but it was pretty frustrating.

Isn't this how it's supposed to work? You're allowed to trade your lancer in if you want.

I don't think this is an "issue" with the game...

No. It's my understanding that it's not supposed to dissappear. You should be able to pick it up again.

Me and some buddies noticed on Horde mode last night that the enemies would just stand back up once we'd take them down, without getting resurrected by anyone.

I noticed that too, but maybe 2 downed enemies can heal each other... not sure. (I think I noticed it happening when there was more than 1 enemy crawling around.)

Sires (non-Locust enemies with crazy deformed bodies) aren't dead when they fall down, make sure you kill them...

Kantus priests (Tall, thin, wear funny hats, the Abraham Lincoln of GoW2) can revive downed enemies from a distance...

Maybe you should play more campaign and learn a little something...

What about resistance 2, I have had no issues in it and it is every bit as good as Gears if not better. I mean you really feel like there is a war going on around you. Also Gears is way dumbed down. The AI for enemies yes on normal mode is ridiculously bad. I know there are harder levels to play on but it should not be as bad as it is. The online for resistance also is way better then gears with 60 player and 8 coop. Also I agree LBP launch was a disaster but, it runs great now and is still far more unique then anything else out there even Spore. I would say Fallout will get GOY though.

I played the Resistance 2 beta after pre-ordering it from Gamestop and was very disappointed. The graphics were pretty weak, and the game didn't seem that much better than Resistance 1. Maybe if they release a real demo for the single player campaign I'll change my mind. Gears of War 2 on the other hand is not only a visual treat, but it does everything I loved about the original and more. I'd rather play 5 player Horde than 8 player co-op any day. I love Little Big Planet, but the online issues the first week were pretty pathetic. Now that they're removing the best levels online, I'm waiting to hear Sony/MM's response on the situation. While Fallout 3 is obviously a great game, I don't think it will beat MGS4 and GTA IV in the race for GOTY.

Resistance 2 is off the chain. Love that game. The co-op is really a masterpice to behold and is just as enjoyable as playing Gears 2 IMO. Yeah Gears is Gears but it's pretty vanilla. No classes, weapon upgrades or special skills. The only reason I keep playing Gears 2 is for Horde mode. The online MP is pretty broken as far as I'm concerned. LBP is off the fucking chain. No doubt it is my game of the year. It's my favorite game E-V-A-R. Unfortuantly Resistance 2 is being overshadowed by Gears 2 even though it's actually a more rounded experience.

Look Gears looks great, but it is bland as the first one in most cases. I also think in my opinion character models in Resistance are every bit as good as gear and no screen tearing like in gears at least in cut scenes as in the first one. Look at the whole though game ground water and the sceneries in resistance and I am telling you in my opinion it looks as good if not better then GOW. Look in the sky I mean you really feel like there is this massive war going on and it is amazing everything going on. Also there is way more in general going on at all points in the game then in GOW like enemies on the screen at once and what not. Not saying there are not scenes without anything. Also Playing the last lvl takes me back to Independence day, Look both are good I just think Resistance did not get the praise it deserves it is very well rounded in all aspects.

I like gears 2 dont get me wrong, but I was quite disappointed with it. The MP matchmaking has pissed me off. My highest was 15 min without getting a single match. Horde is really fun and i enjoyed it with my friends but i was in the resistance 2 beta is i honestly thought it was better in terms of the TDM and DM and sometimes Co-op but Gears 2 Co-op is pretty sweet, duoing campaign is a blast. I'm angry that they took out the Custom Match system ifrom gears 1. The graphics we bad due to the massive compression for the beta not to take up alot of space on the HDD it was 2 GB. As of right now im actually bored of Gears 2 and im back on Fallout 3. I plan on getting R2 sometime in December.

Im not one to complain about games but one thing that is very frustrating is not being able to know when someone is sneaking up behind you with the chainsaw revved up. If someone, in real life, was coming up behind me with a chainsaw, revved or not, I would be able to hear it. I think they should make so if someone is charging with the chainsaw revved, and you go to melee at the same time with a non-lancer weapon, you should be able to do the duel and whoever hits B faster wins. If you have the lancer then, of course they get sawed in half. With the other weapons, you should be able to block the saw and, if you win the duel, be able to take a shot without the other player being able to do anything about it.

The sound is allllll screwed up in the game. I probably never would've noticed it except for the fact that I can no longer hear people's footsteps, but the audioholics detailed it all with a bunch of terms that are way over my head. Apparently the whole sound mix isn't set up the way people like.

Ugh... I hope this isn't like Gow 1 multiplayer....
That was probably the worst multiplayer ever. The only thing I liked about it was the story. Does GoW 2 have 4 player campaign?
