Besides a couple little things such as mediocre ai and having to battle the same guys at every post again and again. It's a very fun open ended world that gives you an idea of Ludwig's everyday life.

Have you heard the podcast two weeks ago?

"So I'm driving down in Jeep, looking at the map and suddenly I have a full-frontal collison. I quickly jump out and chuck a grenade while running into the bushes.Pull out my Sniper Rifle and pick off the guys as they crawl out the burning vehicle...

...and then I go home, play Far Cry 2 and it's exactly like that!"

Yeah I did listen to the podcast. I know how it is it's only happened to me about 100 times so far. I was just letting people know how I feel about the game.

[Imo, it's worth $60 just to see and experience Africa.]

I thought Africa had animals, fish, snakes, elephants etc. Is it too much to ask to see a fricking elephant? I dont even care if it moves or not. Oh, and does everyone in Africa carry a gun and try to kill you? Far Cry 2 - DLC = Disappointment

Aren't the elephants endangered?

Yeah that is a huge turnoff. There's really not that much character interaction, and almost everyone you meet wants to kill you, no women, children or people to talk to. You can't even pass people on the road without them stopping to ram you.

Plus, the animals are hilariously weak. One shot with a silenced pistol does not kill a water buffalo, one of the most dangerous animals to hunt. And they're pretty much everywhere.

I think that the decision to give you choice of the character you play as is really dentrimental to the story. Other mercenaries are clearly just there to give you missions, and often have little else going for them.

That said, it is one of the most fun and satisfying games I've ever played.

I can hear the cork popping all the way here in America. Ludwig just opened a bottle of Asti.

Also, congratulations to Ubisoft.

You know, I gotta say that Ubisoft Montreal is really great. At least for the style of gaming I like, I'm usually really happy with a lot of their games.

Great news. I think Far Cry has a very solid fan base and it shows.

They could take an Enya CD, write "far cry music" on it with a sharpie and I'd still buy it. Fortunately for me they made a kick az game this time instead.
