Now, we're offering you a chance at that kind of cred for the low, low price of $10. That's how much it'll cost you to pick up This Is A Cry for Help, a disc full of the complete works of Edmund McMillen. You'll get the delightful Aether of course, along with more than 16 other games, as well as some animations and comics. We've put a trailer after the break, take a look and see if you're not convinced that he'll be the next big thing. Get there before the rest of the world and don't say we never did anything for you.
It's time to get on the Edmund McMillen bus

Like most of you, we were thrilled to see an indie like Jonathan Blow get his big break with Braid. But unlike most of you, we had the added benefit of smug satisfaction from having been "totally into him" before he had his break. It's like those people who say they liked The Strokes before they hit it big, except we're not lying.

Yeah, who needs to support a good indie dev who puts out creative shit when you could buy nasty fast food or get a few more songs for a game we've already played under ten different names?

A lot of Wendy's?
You're lucky to get 2 combo meals for $10. I suppose you could buy about 8 or 9 things off the 99 cent menu though.

I'm with Erluti. Well, aside from the fast food. Fast food is gross. Sperm has more nutritional value than fast food.*

"Is he good because Joystiq said he was, or because you've played them?"
I played Aether when Joystiq posted about it, then looked up some more of this guy's shit.

I think this calls for a Wendy's Double Stack chant. When I say double, you say stack. Double...

Oh, Joystiq bloggers, naming this name no one's ever heard of. Then I watch the movie and see that he's the guy behind Gish. We already know about Gish. It's great.

Please, please don't let games be ruined by the joyless snobbery that has already claimed music and film. I like playing games. I don't want to have to wear a scarf and a bowler every time I go into EB.

Honestly, I'm a bit driven away from the looks of some of these games, the guy seems too much "lol dicks, lol sperm, lol poop, lol gore, lol blood".
The animation is good, fluid, character expressions are good (the expression on some of the planets in Aether prove this), and some of those games look like fun.
I've played meat boy and really hated the character movement (I still got that impossible badge in Kongregate, which makes me a hypocritical bitch).
I found nothing too special about Aether, either.
It was different, but I didn't catch on it.
