I was so uninterested in this game it really had to have universal praise to get me to consider picking it up. That's something a gamer has to learn about himself. You need to know what you like and how good something you generally don't like will need to be in order for you to enjoy it. I liked Assassin's Creed, because I liked the way it played and the setting. I can't say the same about Mirror's Edge, which seems to be this year's equivalent game, as I thought it would be. Some love it while others see it as a good idea poorly implemented. Execution would have had to be perfect for me to consider this one.

I'm really on the fence with this one. Reviews aside, I don't know if it's worth it with everything else coming out right now. I still have to finish up GoW2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Tales of Vesperia, play more LBP, and get WotLK.

what if you're colorblind and have trouble spotting the red? :(

There's an option where you can turn off the red entirely from the beginning, so I guess you're just forced to play the game that way the entire time. :(

I don't know. I played the demo and while it was interesting, it seemed like a one-trick pony. I can't imagine there'll be much room to take the "running across rooftops" mechanics and stretch it over eight hours.

I'll buy this when it comes out on Greatest Hits.

You know what else is a one trick pony? FPS's. Yet they consistently sell very well.

Most of the remixes stink though. I would suggest just listening to the original unless you're REALLY into techno.
*Note, I am into techno, and dislike some tracks.

It's not a new genre. It's just First-Person platforming. Just because you can do a little more than run and jump doesn't make it a new genre.

i learned this argument in school a year ago in philosophy;
since mirror's edge looks like portal, and i love portal,= i will love mirror's edge.

im bored. anyone wanna co-op gears wit me?

I disagree about the most innovative in the last 5 years. I believe Portal should take the cake(yay puns) on that one. Though Mirror's edge would be like right under it to my knowledge.

I had an interesting thought about the gunplay. Maybe it sucks so much because they don't want you to use it and Faith herself doesn't want to use it?

Probably different for everyone. I had no troubles with it whatsoever but my wife gets sick just watching me play it from across the room.

You know I'm in quite a dilemma. I recently graduated from trade school and as a result of the longer than anticipated job search, am broke. I have Fable 2 but have lost the desire to play it. Am interested in Fallout 3, but rarely have the time to have a good session with it (every step seems to take so LONG)and have been pretty amped about a lot of other games and the Wii fit. LBP, GOW2, FC2, L4D, COD:WaW, and maybe even QoS. Theres more but not ones that are immediately recognizable by acronyms so I'll stick with the theme. I've been pretty excited about Mirrors Edge for a long time, as I consider myself a game aficionado trapped in a world of recycled games with updated visuals. I guess my long winded point (apparently i need hookedonpolygon back)is: I'm broke. My games need value, not just production value. Does Mirrors Edge really offer an experience that's worth $70.00 and more visceral and entertaining then the list of letters up there?

If I get one game, should it even be in the running?
6 hours, no multiplayer?

And when did games get so mainstream that just the acronym of them is immediately recognizable. That shit took Mega Man 10 games.

I have to agree with Tycho from Penny Arcade: The meat of the game lies in the time trials.
