Why don't you just include that "DLC" in the retail release?!

I'm sick of games not even launching yet, then the creators saying... "IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS WE WILL RELEASE ________ DLC"

Sure, I like DLC, but if it's an idea that comes up during development, they should just include it in the game. DLC should be stuff that they come up with after the game has released.

Asset creation, testing, and fitting it into the story are all things to why it doesn't fit in. Usually its something that they came up with after they started working on everything that they thought was 'cool' but it didn't fit in the game. It's called "Feature Creep". If you keep adding new shit to your game, it will eventually not turn out to what you originally wanted and thus be useless. That's where DLC comes in.

As far as PC comes in, any work on MOD tools? If not, I'm likely getting PS3 version.

Vote with your money! If the content the game has by default isn't good enough, don't buy it.

If the DLC isn't worth the price, don't buy it.

If both the game and DLC are worth their respective prices, then you have nothing to complain about.

Statistically speaking, when the publishers promise DLC in their games tend to sell better.
Or at least you might want to hold off on selling your copy for awhile.

I know I still have my GTA IV.

Maybe the time put into the creating the DLC actually cost more then the $60 you paid for the game. Just a thought.

Ever hear of Duke Nukem Forever? Yeah, they kept getting cool ideas and added them into the game before release too. Or rather, that's what they're STILL doing.

The demo for this game is already out, right? If that's the case can anybody please chime in with their gameplay thoughts? I'm curious to hear what this game is like.

Thanks.

It's pretty fun, if you're prone to motion sickness I would approach with caution, but the controls feel pretty tight, and they're nice and simple, LB for jumping or climbing over obstacles, or wall jump, anything that involves jumping or going up. L is for crouching, sliding, rolling etc. R for your limited combat but you don't get much use of it in the demo, just the tutorial and two guards.
RB does a nice quick 180 turn that you use when wall jumping.

If the game is just like the demo, I will be very happy. If the game has a "no enemies" mode, where you can just run around the world, I will be very very happy. If they add on a map pack go all of the city's rooftops and I can parkour from one side to the other, ala Assassin's Creed, I may never need another game.

Go download the demo. Some people don't like the controls on the 360, but for me, it'll play JUST fine.

The gameplay in the demo is like Assassin's Creed in first-person. You run and jump and climb with the city as your playground. The runner vision, or whatever they called it, highlights the path to your goal by coloring objects red. Once you get the hang of it, movement is fluid. This is where the game really shines.

Sometimes you're forced into combat, though, and unlike Assassin's Creed, the combat feels awkward and clunky.

The graphics on the PS3 demo are awful. The screen tears the most visibly I've ever seen of any game, and the jaggies are uber-noticeable.

I'm waiting for the PC version so I can stick some anti-aliasing and v-sync on that sucka.

I've been dreaming of a game like this for so long now. When the demo came out it was everything I was hoping it would be. I am ready to pick this game up when it comes out (today i think).

Having said that, I have yet to buy any add on content from any game. I don't like the idea of paying 1, 2, 3 doll hairs for some different shoes or extra glitter on a gun.

So I went to GameStop to pick up my preordered Mirror's Edge and they told me that the release date was when it shipped from the warehouse, not when they actually SOLD it. I've never preordered anything before... is this total BS? They certainly had some of the other big release titles from this week out already... midnight launches and such.

If I don't get the messenger bag, I will be angry... oh yes.

It is a regular thing unfortunately. The release date is the actual date you preordered it for, but they don't ship it and expect it to arrive until the day after. Some stores get it on time, others don't. That's usually why I don't preorder unless I know a few days before if they already have some in back.

Unfortunately, this is true. Typically, the "release date" is the day they are shipped, and stores don't have them to sell until the next day.

Some big name titles are "street dated", meaning that they get shipped early so that they're actually available on release day, rather than shipped on release day. Apparently they did not feel Mirror's Edge should fall into this category. I disagree but hey, what can you do?

So, we're looking at a new trend now with multi-platform game releases on the PC, right? Delay the release for a few months and attempt to make as much cash as possible on the console releases? Is this some new crazy scheme to curb piracy? Or are they trying to kill PC gaming?

For anyone interested, here's a link to IGN's video review... sounds like a rental or used purchase for me, not worth $60

Sounds like it can be beat in roughly 6 hours. That's 1/2 the time it takes to get through Dead Space. Wonder if they could have kept all 3 versions confined to one box instead of splitting it into 3 short trilogies.

Xbox 360 release of new make-up to be priced at 1200 points confirmed.

Unless it's Ultimate Warrior make-up. That, I may get.
