I actually got goosebumps from it. Maybe I'll actually get around to finishing it on the DS.

It's got some of the best video game music I've ever heard, for sure.

Too bad the gameplay couldn't stand the test of time, though.

And don't bother arguing with me about that point; it's just my opinion, and I know I'm in the minority on this one.

"This Japanese commercial for Chrono Trigger DS is incredibly cute and, unlike the game, totally original"

sure it's a port, but the original Chrono Trigger was original. At a time when saving the princess was the plot of most RPGs, CT's plot and gameplay were so original that most gamers were enthralled by it. It's still my favourite RPG (followed closely by FFVI), and I haven't felt the same way about another RPG since. I can't explain it, but CT was just magical. (again FFVI came close, but it just lacked that something that made CT special)

and althrough TWEWY is far more original by today's standards, and I really do like it for this reason. It again lacks the magic and charm that makes CT the best RPG in my heart/mind. (Sorry TWEWY fans, the plot was interesting, but too dark to spark the magic that CT did for me).

What is TWEWY meant to be? I can't figure it out.

Strange, I prefered FFVI over Chrono Trigger (although CT came close). I swear it only has to do with what you end up playing first.

LMAO Does this mean Magus won't be in the game? They left him behind...

*SPOILER*

(Yeah, a spoiler tag would've been nice for your comment, too.)

In the original release, he was considered a secret character... they probably excluded him to preserve that for the new generation of CT lovers.

Nah, they just forgot him because no one loves him. ;3

@GrungeSpoo: really I don't think that's the case with me (and everyone for that matter), I played FFVI first then CT, and even through I loved FFVI, CT was more magical.

@SephFinale: I love Magus, he better be in this game or else.lol. I think he has one of the best themes too ^^ CT really does have a nice musical score.

oh i forgot to mention, I think it has to do more with the reason as to why TWEWY couldn't debunk CT as my all-time favourite RPG. Both FFVI and TWEWY's plots are pretty dark, sure CT has its moments, but overall it has a happy-fun feel to it. The time-traveling aspect really adds to its charm as well. I don't know why, but the whole journey felt magical, instead of darkly dramatic like TWEWY and FFVI. Of course I like my darker plots too, otherwise FFVI and TWEWY wouldn't be able to make it into my top five RPGs. In the end, I think all RPG fans owe it to themselves to play these three, all of them are exceptional RPGs. But then again, this is just my opinion and some will feel that CT is dated (see comment 3).

Commercials in the US need to be this short. All the time.
