Europe is now addicted to Wrath of the Lich King
Our World of Warcraft friends (some of whom may or may not work as professional WoW bloggers) have been prodding us incessantly to remind us that (a) Wrath of the Lich King is coming out worldwide on November 13 and (b) Europe is hours ahead of North America. Applying applicable logic, we can use (a) and (b) to deduce (c) Europeans are now exploring Northrend via the latest WoW expansion on European servers.
Why should you care? If you're a Western Hemisphere MMO addict, you might have a new reason to hate your friends across the pond -- at least for a few hours. If you don't care about MMOs at all, well, here's a post about Far Cry 2. Check out WoW Insider for more in-depth coverage than you can shake a Death Knight at. Remember, folks, Wrath of the Lich King officially comes out midnight tonight, so make an effort to see your WoW-playing buddies this one last time.

Titanium_Orchid @ Nov 12th 2008 8:26PM
dude, if you bang two rocks together it totally feels like your playing Warcraft
Haggard @ Nov 13th 2008 3:00AM
The best thing is that you can bang two rocks together wherever you are, be it on our outdoor toilets, our horse-and-carriages, or our ever profitable leather short factories.
Henry @ Nov 13th 2008 3:46AM
You are kidding arent you?
Finland, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Norway, Austria, Belgium and Germany all have faster internet speeds than the US.
Who's banging rocks together now?

I came back to WoW a month ago for wrath, then left a week ago for Fallout 3. I think this would have been better in January after the holiday games come out.
Jeremy White @ Nov 12th 2008 6:59PM
I think a WoW expansion could release any time of the year and nothing is going to hinder it from hitting 1 million+ sales.
BxGT @ Nov 12th 2008 6:58PM

And so the virus spread, taking with it the once esteemed continent of Europe.
Woe are the tidings of ActiBlizzard and their ilk!!!

And here in Australia it is nearly noon on the 13th. And New Zealand is even further ahead. Fortunately I don't play WoW, so I am still available to comment on Joystiq.

excellent

You're assuming each region's servers are going to let people into the new realm based on their local timezone, and not the master clock at Blizzard HQ.
Jappleng @ Nov 12th 2008 9:32PM
Umm.. Actually the servers should be more or less available because there are a lot of people who cannot use their DVD. So far there are no reason why this might be, however there are reports that it may be caused by the majority of Europeans don't own a duel-layer DVD player but an 8-track cassette player (oh snap! jk folks).
But in all seriousness, forums across the nation are issuing a warrant for Blizzard's ignorance and fan-made walkthroughs on how-to create an installer that works for the "techies at work" has also been spotted. ~horrible grammar meets run-on sentence~

I can't imagine being a WoW player right now, in the thick of the glorious Fall release season. That game demands soo much time I'd have little else for all the other amazing titles out right now.
