Good game, but it quickly became repetitive. And the online game was a bit of a disappointment.

I'd consider Resistance 2 before Far Cry 2 if I were you - just personal preferance!

The included map editor is the real draw with FC2, and it should keep the online scene fresh and interesting for some time to come...

I just got the game in exchange for a used copy of GTAIV I picked up and a used copy of Haze I got for super cheap. I just started playing 3 minutes ago. I'll probably beat it, play a bit of multiplayer and trade it out for something else. I think it'll be decent from what I hear.

Its on my rental list. Im still playing my bought choice titles (LBP, BioShock, R2) and renting short/crap in between (007, Mirrors Edge, Skate it).
THEN i buy rent/buy 2nd round titles like Far Cry 2, Eternal Sonata, Dead Space.

Why hasn't this game received all the attention that Resistance and other titles have received right now?

Anyhow, it's a beautiful game, but it unfortunately gives me motion sickness with all the head bobbing while running and car shaking while driving. The the driving is as tedious as GTA4. For something like this, developers should add on a "save anywhere system" like Oblivion out of necessity.

I finished the game yesterday. It was a real pain to motivate myself to finish it, but i wanted to sell my used copy before it is worth nothing. The game is boring in the beginning and it stays boring until the end. The 10 second long ending cutscene which is the same for both alternate ending gave me the rest. Far Cry 2 is definately worse than Kane & Lynch. It may have beautiful graphics, good driving physics and solid shooting, but thats about it. Most other things like Gameplay, Story, open world realism and so on are just horrible - everything that makes a game worthwhile.

Far Cry 2 really looks like an amazing game, but it somehow gives you this boring aura around it. I honestly want to play it some more (I stopped at the second mission), but I don't know why it's stopping me from putting it in the PS3.

I've been playing for 18 hours and am only 20% done. I love to just turn the game on for an hour or two and mess around with all the different ways to take out camps.

By far my favorite shooter of all time.

I'm real glad I rented this one, a week of FarCry was enough. it was an awesome game for the first few nights, but after a couple of evenings burning down camps and driving for AGES, all while needing to stop all the time to kill people at the camps (you can't just drive through, they chase you - fun at first, annoying soon after) I got sick of it. Was happy to take it back, specially as i was picking up Fallout 3 when I took it back!

Shame I can't play Fallout right now due to Endwar addiction. Ranked 83rd this week, winning the war for the Motherland!

Anyone else plays Endwar, add me "Foolishbean69"
