Readers pick best webcomic: Let's search for tre-sha!
As in, "treasure," only with a thick accent. Scott Ramsoomair always seems to have the magic touch; once again, his VG Cats strip claims the top spot of this week's webcomic wrapup. Out of all the things our Fable 2 dog has discovered in the grounds of Albion, this makes a lot more sense than, say, a shiny hat.
Second and third place go to Tough Times (Luke Surl Comics) and Fixing an Election (2P Start). Thanks to everyone who voted, as well as for all the logos (and your opinion/critiques thereof). Be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!

The Gears of War 2 Ctrl-Alt-Del is very funny.

*applause*
Tiptup300 @ Nov 12th 2008 10:07PM
Not really...
JerJer @ Nov 12th 2008 7:28PM
VGCats - always funny, never updated.
Rollins @ Nov 12th 2008 8:51PM
I still don't find it funny.
It illustrates something amusing that happens in Fable 2 with an anthropomorphic cat and a dog.
I understand the concept of observational comedy, but simply retelling an amusing event doesn't make it laugh-worthy.
I have never and likely will never understand VGCats' appeal.
RabbidMickeyMouse @ Nov 12th 2008 9:10PM
Perhaps...
Linkario @ Nov 12th 2008 7:29PM
My wife and I have been poking fun at the thick British accent in Fable for the past week... I hear non stop "Com on lil' brove-ah!" from her.
Which brings me back to the observation of... How in the he11 is it that American's are the one that have "butchered the English language". Yes, yes. I know how old the language is versus the age of America, but who puts a "V" in brother?
Oh well.. I'm off to search for Tre-sha with my bruv-ah.
Hyams @ Nov 12th 2008 7:33PM
It's because no English person actually talks like that. That's just what Americans *think* we talk like.
Cutty @ Nov 12th 2008 7:36PM
Linkario, there are far more accents in Britain than the one you mention. In fact, Fable II presents a good few of them.
Linkario @ Nov 12th 2008 7:36PM
It's okay... we (Americans) all talk like George Bush. Redneck with a strong dosage of f&$*tard!
Shmil @ Nov 12th 2008 7:45PM
Attention all English people:
Pronounce aluminum
Shmil @ Nov 12th 2008 7:46PM
For the record, I'm half english, father born in london. we give him crap all the time for the way he pronounces certain things, vitamins, garage and many more
Chris Robinson @ Nov 12th 2008 8:11PM
Shmil: Ah-loo-min-um?
A quick Wikipedia search revealed that aluminum is actually an accepted spelling. And there was me thinking Americans couldn't pronounce the "I" in aluminium. The more you know.
Still, it's nice to know that aluminium is more prevalent.
Shmil @ Nov 12th 2008 8:20PM
Chris you win the prize. Not because of your American pronunciation of the word, but because of your space ghost avatar.
Titanium_Orchid @ Nov 12th 2008 8:27PM
Americans do a pretty good job of butchering the English language too
LaughingTarget @ Nov 13th 2008 10:16AM
I feel like I tell this historic tidbit twice a year. The Brits are to blame for aluminum. They had a typo in a science journal that was sent to the US. They left out the second I. And the rest is history.
Stupidiot @ Nov 13th 2008 9:56PM
I have my British accent poked fun at all the time, not least by my fellow countrymen.
(also: "al-yoo-min-ee-um", "ga-rahj" etc.)
As far as I'm concerned, the nature of language means it's not so much butchered as "adapted".
As a side note, the original name suggested by the discoverer of a certain metal with a disputed name was alumium.
Osman @ Nov 12th 2008 7:35PM
Be careful while looking for tre-sha, you might bump into Scott, he's a dick!
1337stra @ Nov 12th 2008 7:38PM
I like El Verde's
j.howlett @ Nov 12th 2008 7:43PM
i enjoyed the winner
Morgon @ Nov 12th 2008 7:50PM
My first impression of 'tre-sha' was from Terrence & Philip (South Park)
MNC Dover @ Nov 12th 2008 8:00PM
Morgon? Like Morgon from the Omegathon? What's up bud?! Small world eh? Shoot me an email sometime, we gotta get ready for Left 4 Dead. Imagine that in next years Omegathon. :)
Oh yeah, here's a strip for next week's poll:

Shmil @ Nov 12th 2008 8:10PM
Terrance and Phillip are Canadian, as is Scott Ramalamadingdong (like hell i'm scrolling up to see how to spell it)
Also I thought that too, mostly because of the Terrance and Phillip special that aired on april fools. Best. Joke. Ever.
343 Guilty Fart @ Nov 12th 2008 8:14PM
I didn't get the comic at all, but realizing now that it's Fable-related makes much more sense, since I haven't played it.
Shmil @ Nov 12th 2008 8:30PM
You can find/purchase condoms in the game so that you are able to have safe sex with your spouse or prostitute. Your dog will alert you if there's buried tre-sha near by and point it out to you. I too have found a condom buried in the ground.
RaginTombo @ Nov 12th 2008 8:25PM
The VG Cats was pretty good last week even though I didn't know what game it was from at first.
Here's a comic for next week:
