You're exactly right. Almost like one of the Dino themes from Chrono Trigger. But definitely a portable game sound.

I don't agree. The music sounds very similar to FFXII to me. I could completely see it being in a next(current)gen game.

Is it just me or does this look like a rip-off of Shadow of the Colossus?

that is exactly what i was thinking as soon as i saw the picture. however, that was an awesome game, and getting a sequel/improved clone wouldnt be so bad. (especially if it is on the 360)

That was the first thing I thought myself: "Man, I would DIE if I could play as Wander trying to slay that thing."

I was even sizing up ledges to grip on the way up...

Bahamut (Arabic: بهموت‎ Bahamūt) is a vast fish that supports the earth in Arabian mythology.[1] In some sources, Bahamut is described as having a head resembling a hippopotamus or elephant.[2]

ARGH! Why must you tease Square?! Don't be like Bungie. Say no to countdowns. Although I do like the way that certain company drops hints about the game that they're teasing, but I have a feeling with Square that we'll just be twiddling our thumbs until that timer is done without any other teasers or hints or what-have-you.

And yeah, Bahamut and what seems to be Alexander? Curious...

Well... aparently is a DS game, and if this turns to be a good game, maybe they will do a couple more games of the same franchise.

It would be nice a Wii title by Square... they haven't released any news since about Crystal Bearers since the last trailer (which look amazing).

It would be nice, and Wii is the one platform out of all the others that Square Enix has neglected.

More power for 2009 can only be good

Could be a Bahamut Lagoon sequal. But seeing as the original Bahamut Lagoon never came the the states, hard to say since I haven't played it and don't know about the world.

Well, Bahamut Lagoon is about dragons, specifically an evil dragon from another dimension. The top half of the image would strongly support this. The lower half, not so much. Other than the fact there is a town on a floating island on the right - Bahamut Lagoon featured "lagoons" which were floating islands.

Sequel seems unlikely at this point, but I would be really eager to play one. Perhaps a release over VC or a port to DS?

It has been confirmed as a DS game, and there are a few screen shots, one of which is a floating island. I'm pretty sure at this point that it is either a remake or a sequel to Bahamut Lagoon.

I should take that back actually. Someone mentioned that the characters in the screen shots were Vaan and Balthier from FF12 and that DS game. Which doesn't make sense for a Bahamut Lagoon game. When I actually looked at the close ups, he was right. But that doesn't mean that those screen shots are from this game. Who knows at this point.

Music DEFINITELY is reminiscent of Bahamut Lagoon's opening theme. A remake/sequel with a U.S. release would be sweet!

I don't like to advocate piracy, but in this case I think it's justified. Some people released a translation for the entire game which I played through on an emulator.

I'd say the top part with the countdown looks more like Bahamut Lagoon than the big thing in the main part of the picture.

This is totally unrelated, but long long ago I used to imagine that the summoned characters in the FF games were worshipped as gods, with Bahamut being more or less equivalent to the capital-G one. (Which makes little sense when you think about it, as Odin-- the All-Father-- was UNDER a somewhat obscure big-ass lizard.)

Yeah, I was a mythology nerd when I was little.

In light of the screenshots that Fernando posted and what everyone has been saying... If it's a portable game, I'm going to cry. They have enough portable games coming out. I like the DS, but I don't touch it enough to make it work my time.

I live in a city where the public transportation sucks, so I'm never on a bus or what have you. So the only time that I'd get to play a portable is instead of playing a console game and that rarely happens.
