The game has been out for how long and how much dlc is out already? Man what a bust and to think I remember them saying that dlc would play a big role in the guitar hero mixes man was I gullible.

Wow, one or two packs a week and already you people are bitching about the lack of DLC. This is alot of DLC compared to GH3 and NOT EVEN COMPARABLE to GH2.

Fuck, even ROCK BAND did one pack a week back when it came out.

4 Weeks of GH:WT DLC = 29 songs.
4 Weeks of RB's DLC = 24 songs.

Rock Band didn't start pumping out mound after mound of DLC until last summer.

And another thing. It's fucking HENDRIX. I think it's big enough for its own week.

Same with GH:WT, which had a giant Metallica album , a three pack, and two free two packs.

But even that wasn't as much (or as good, imo) as the Rock Band 1 launch.

Classic Metallica over only so-so newer Metallica anyday.

11 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 18 songs at WT launch
3 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 15 songs at RB launch

Check your math, maybe?

From my sources, this pack makes 30 songs.

The game has been out for...17 days.

That's almost 2 songs per day.

Stop your stupid complaining, it's annoying and arrogant.

While I haven't picked up RB/RB2 or GHWT, I am impressed that Activision has definitely stepped up its game in the DLC arena. And Activision is definitely flexing its business-making muscles with this Hendrix pack and the exclusive Death Magnetic rights (great album btw). I may probably end up buying GHWT just because it's Guitar Hero and I love it's over the top style. But I think I'll have more trouble deciding which game to get once I'm in the actual store...

You'd be right on with that statement. I was just going by my experience with GH3.

I haven't found time for GH:WT yet, I've been too busy with Gears 2, LittleBigPlanet, Rock Band (new to AU!), Fallout 3 and FarCry 2. Between work, sleep and eating, there isn't much time for ALL of them.

It's too hard to pick a favourite out of those titles.

I'm sure GH:WT is decent in it's own right, but to be honest; I just wanted to take a shot at it "for the lulz".

I honestly think GH:WT is at least playable, when GH3 wasn't. But even with that... the charting isn't all that great. Undercharts here, overcharts there... everything isn't screwed up, but what is is fairly noticeable.

Although Rock Band 2 (and possibly 1, but no hyperspeed=fail for me) is better than GH:WT, I do think that GH:WT gets too much unwarranted bashing.

I swear, half of the people that played GH:WT never even gave it a chance when they picked it up.

Hell, I think the naysayers should go play the awesome bass parts. The Open Strum makes bass fun again!

Ummmmmm.... WUT

Are you on crack, or can you actually somehow explain what you mean that GH3 was somehow unplayable? Sorry to be an ass, but Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii don't get it.

GH:WT has a FEW overcharted songs...but they seem to be mostly towards the end.

I have noticed several WT songs that do that popular "Take the same note from the beginning of the song but make it a triple chord this time" approach.

And towards the end, Bass totally abuses the open note. It may be "accurate", but when they're crammed together in a song like BYOB it turns into a mess to read.

I got the pack, had to get my Jimi on. ;) Only issue is that "If 6 was 9" is a pretty odd song to put on there... the guitar is actually pretty laid back in that one.

Thats Xavier in GH3.

He plays Lefty in GH:WT, but lazy blogger opted to get a GH3 photo of the knockoff, rather than the real thing.

Much like all of the Rock Band posts that have the beta interface on them.

I still wonder why the beta shot for Rock Band is used almost as much as regular screens.

Its Rock Band 2 Joystiq, not still Rock Band 1 beta ;P

...But really though, its just a picture and I probably shouldn't even care...

I don't even want to ponder what you've done with that plastic guitar...good for you for no longer doing it though. If I ever did the things you did, I'd retire from it myself. I had to take a month's hiatus when I thought about snorting coke off it.

lol I see what you did there. But seriously, if I would have spent all that time learning how to play a real guitar I would have been making my own solos instead of playing along with plastic guitars. What made me stop playing was when I beat TTFAF. After that, it's just not fun anymore.

Not going to lie, just downloaded this stuff. Some of Neversofts best charts ever, and these songs are fucking classics. This might be the best DLC GH:WT will ever get.

I could play Little Wing all day.

I gave WT a rental, but after playing it...I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did RB.

I LOVED the open note, and some of new guitar elements (still a bit thrown off by strumming during sustains...)

But then I played the vocals...and I was royally annoyed. I'm an Expert RB vocalist and I could barely beat some of these songs on medium (including the songs duped over from RB)

That ended up being the deciding factor for me. I applaud the effort, but after a year of RB, it was going to be tough to convince me to make a second investment.

It's also probably best for my wallet to not have two games with weekly DLC content.

"if 6 was 9" is an odd choice for DLC.
It's really relaxed and chilled for the guitar.
