Nintendo reveals early 2009 lineup, Mario & Luigi 3 in Feb.
Nintendo has revealed its Japanese lineup for the onset of 2009 (via IGN). Unsurprisingly, the list consists largely of games that will likely never see an official release overseas, but a few titles stand out. Mario & Luigi RPG 3 is coming February 11 to DS (no release date yet for other regions), while Castlevania Judgment and Play for Wii Mario Tennis are coming January 15. As previously revealed, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time will be coming to both DS and Wii on January 29.
Not listed are the recently unveiled Sin and Punishment 2 and Punch-Out!! for Wii. Looks like we'll be waiting a while before getting our hands on them.

Mario & Luigi RPG 3
Castlevania Judgment
Play for Wii Mario Tennis
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time
Damn not bad games at all. Is it just me or does it seems like Nintendos spring lineup is stronger then it's holiday lineup. I wonder if any of theese will come to EU. I'd buy at least 3 of them, u guess which ones!!
Crazylink @ Nov 13th 2008 7:12AM
When Square had their release's listed, I was worried about the absence FFCC. Are they not the people developing it?
BPMOmega [gamertag] @ Nov 13th 2008 3:10PM
It's possible that while they're developing it, Nintendo will publish it. I believe Nintendo jointly owns the "Crystal Chronicles" brand.
jonatho @ Nov 13th 2008 7:12AM
Really looking forward to Mario & Luigi 3, I remember having a lot of laughs playing the first two.
John Z @ Nov 13th 2008 7:58AM
Hm. Atelier Annie might make it over, and I'm wondering if Another Code: R might cross at some point (Trace Memory was more fun than some folks give it credit for).
The long odds are for the Haruhi game, but until the second season goes into production (or the novels start coming out) I don't think we'll see that one in NA. As much as I would REALLY REALLY want it.
sam @ Nov 13th 2008 8:04AM
Um - to me the list read blah, blah, blah, FRAGILE!, blah, blah, blah...
okay maybe FF:CC will be good and all, and maybe Fragile will suck, but still, nobody even mentioned it? I'm not sure they announced a US release or not, but it doesn't look implausible (even if it probably won't be soon).

Nintendo was not prepared for the success of the Wii. They have been struggling to keep a steady supply of games coming since launch.
Mr Khan @ Nov 13th 2008 8:56AM
Punch-Out!! is being developed by Next Level Games, a Vancouver-based company. I would imagine a North American release coming first
Though i could be wrong, and the whole set could be pushed back. However, i seem to remember NoA pegging the game for Q1
Mr Khan @ Nov 13th 2008 12:21PM
Oh, and if you read the IGN article, except for Mario and Luigi 3, this is just January, not the totality of Q1
Megadanxzero @ Nov 13th 2008 9:18AM
Is Echoes of time a spin-off of the spin-off that was supposed to come out near launch and still isn't out yet?
@tomic @ Nov 13th 2008 3:52PM
lolnope
I believe you're referring to Crystal Bearers. Yeah... I don't think even Square knows what happened to that game. Shame, it was looking pretty nice too.
Megadanxzero @ Nov 13th 2008 11:39PM
You misunderstood me. I know Crystal Bearers is the spin-off that was supposed to come out near launch and still isn't out yet, but I was wondering if Echoes of time is a spin-off OF the spin-off that was supposed to come out near launch and still isn't out yet

• 1/15: Understand the Meaning Adult Word Practice (Now Productions)
Awesome. Japan makes games that teach kids how to swear now!
samfish @ Nov 13th 2008 9:46AM
• 1/22: Haruhi Suzumiya no Gekidou (Kadokawa Shoten)
I'm also importing this one.
It's kinda sad that 2 of the next 3 Wii games I intend to buy are going to be imports :\
...although admittedly it's my own damn fault for wanting a Haruhi game.
Temidien @ Nov 13th 2008 9:49AM
I couldn't agree with you more that it's sad.
Having said that, I just bought a Haruhi Figma figure...
Geist @ Nov 13th 2008 11:45AM
Both of you are sad. Very sad.
Spooky @ Nov 13th 2008 9:47AM
The Wii is only selling because of its motion gimmick people who don't have one want one cause they think its cool. Once they get it and realize very few of the games are actually worth buying it just rots under the TV.
jarhead906 @ Nov 13th 2008 9:52AM
Yep. Exactly what happened to my little brother's. That's why he bought a PS3 because he realized it is the embodiment of the word gimmick.
DigTheDoug @ Nov 13th 2008 10:27AM
This highly infomative comment brought to you from December 2006.
Mr Khan @ Nov 13th 2008 11:18AM
and from a guy with a Mario Galaxy avatar, no less
mr nimblewick @ Nov 13th 2008 11:09PM
I like that jarhead's little brother bought a system with a motion sensitive controller after deciding the wii was a gimmick.
KevinM @ Nov 13th 2008 10:41AM
anyone play mario & luigi 2?
i loved the first one, but i was somewhat skeptical of the second one.
Geist @ Nov 13th 2008 11:46AM
The second one was alright, but it wasn't as good as the first. It had a time travel mechanic that felt criminally underused, but the battle system is a little more evolved (you can fight with the babies as well).
BPMOmega [gamertag] @ Nov 13th 2008 3:14PM
Likely to get:
-Mario & Luigi 3
-FF:CC:EoT DS version (screw the Wii version; that's just a lazy port of the DS version!)
-Trace Memory R
May rent:
-Castlevania Judgement
Possible import(?):
-The Excitement of Haruhi Suzumiya
HappyFunBall @ Nov 13th 2008 8:23PM
Nice to see a new Mario & Luigi game in the pipes. Can't wait until it makes it over here.
