While the prospect of ever seeing an official, localized release of
Persona 2: Innocent Sin remains bleak, those who missed the second chapter,
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, when it was first released on PlayStation (yes, PS1) eight years ago, now have a second, albeit seriously limited chance to score a copy of the reprint. Bet you never thought you'd be buying a
brand new (and full-priced!) PS1 game again, did you?
To commemorate the December 9th release of
Persona 4, Atlus has
announced an "ultra limited" reprint of
Persona 2, including a bonus disc featuring the trailer and a video interview with the developers, to be sold exclusively through Amazon.com and Amazon.ca.

All PS3s play PS1 games. It's only PS2 games where you have differing levels of BC.

According to the Atlus email, it said it works on PS3s. Since the emails came out today, it's highly likely that they will work on new PS3s.

This is cool and all, but why don't they just sell the game as a download on PSN for the majority of us that won't be able to score this? The lack of PS1 downloads in the US PSN store (or pretty much every region outside of HK and Japan) is really frustrating.

According to the guy at EB (who is not a douchebag, oddly enough), Final Fantasy 8 and 9 are still being produced. I don't know about Chronicles and Anthology, I see those everywhere, but I don't think they are....So if you want a copy of 8 or 9, just go ask for one. Most stores don't put up PS1 games, but they do have them somewhere under the desk.

Only P1 and the P2 games are related. P3 and P4 are completely different characters and stories, but P4 makes some cameo references to P3.

So basically, its gone now. They don't even have new ones listed on Amazon.com ATM. Nothing about being sold out or anything.
Anyone else as pissed as I am ATM? Gone in less then 2 hours and no knowledge about it at all. I don't watch my email every second of everyday and because of that, I get f-ed over. :not terribly happy ATM: They should have sent out those emails long before Amazon put them up for purchase. At least give people a chance.
Anyway, how the heck was it listed? If Amazon itself has it for sale, they at least tell you its out of stock. I almost doubt this stuff was up for sale as there is no proof it was up on Amazon.com.
