Street Fighter IV coming to consoles Feb. 17 in US, Feb. 20 in Europe
Japan isn't the only territory getting the home version of Street Fighter IV in February. Capcom has announced via its official forums that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be available in the US on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and in Europe three days later on Feb. 20. The promised PC port of the series' latest installment is still without a solid release date (or window, even) anywhere in the world, warriors.

As a wise street shark once said while skitching on rollerblades, "Jawesome!".

You just brought back a whole bunch of memories with that Street Sharks reference. Thank you good sir.

And Where its the rumored Wii version and PC?
Nael M. @ Nov 14th 2008 1:48PM
PC version is confirmed and arriving some time after the 360 and PS3 versions. There's no Wii version, but it is getting Tatsunoko vs. Capcom as a trade-off.
Squirtforce @ Nov 14th 2008 1:49PM
Really trying to hold back a derogatory wii comment, but how exactly would the controls work on that?
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 14th 2008 1:51PM
Well.. the Wii is getting Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and it looks impressive, both in gameplay and graphics.
I just hope the game can be released on USA (Capcom said in the forums that they are trying to release the game here). Altough I have Gecko OS in the Homebrew Channel, so it would not be a problem to import the game, but still I would prefer a USA version.

Fernando Rocker @ Nov 14th 2008 1:54PM
"but how exactly would the controls work on that?"
Well... they can use the same control scheme of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, which is Nunchuck + Remote. TvC has only has 4 attack buttons, so, you can use the Z and C on the Nunchuck and A and B on the Remote.
You can also use Classic controller.
Mr Khan @ Nov 14th 2008 2:25PM
Wii version would still make sense, except for the fact that the game is probably 720p native. Otherwise (poly count and such) it could probably be done, with some of the lighting possibly excluded. Those poly counts have definitely been beaten in Wii games before
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 14th 2008 1:48PM
As much as I want to play Street Fighter 4, in my opinion Tatsunoko vs Capcom looks a lot more fun and the art style and character design is way better.
I hope Capcom can brings Tatsunoko vs Capcom to USA too (on any console)... btw... Viewtiful Joe confirmed as a fighter =p
Henshin a go-go baby!

I, too, am hopelessly awaiting TvC to be announced for North America... though it should be noted that the last time I mocked someone (probably you, F) for hoping a game that everybody wanted would actually come out, it happened. Twice.
(It was you, as it turns out: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/square-enix-considering-stakes-in-competing-developers/ )
So, consider this my mocking of future irony.
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 14th 2008 2:07PM
hehe nice!

mvc3!!!
MowDownJoe @ Nov 14th 2008 4:28PM
Yes, please! If they can't bring over TvC, them make MvC3 with TvC's engine.
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 14th 2008 1:52PM
Happy Happy, joy joy!!!
Miles @ Nov 14th 2008 2:13PM
I can't wait . Capcom are the only guys who understand how to keep their flagship games tight with each version, except for DMC 2. Sega needs to take notice.
Dirty @ Nov 14th 2008 2:16PM
I know all the wii fanboys are all about Tatsunoko vs Capcom, but I dont know any of thost characters other than the Capcom ones, wouldn't it be better to have a new Marvel vs Capcom for us (or make an arcade/psn/wii ware re-release).
I know its really just substituting their silly costumed character with our silly costumed characters, but I just dont think the market is big enough to bring that over.
I dunno are there enough Nandos and Kahns out there to support the port?
Mr Khan @ Nov 14th 2008 2:29PM
Joystiq is only one mirror on public opinion. Statistics at large have shown that these games are definitely profitable if handled properly. Niche games or not, few worthwhile Wii games have "bombed" in the sense that the publisher really lost money.
Although i do agree that some of Tatsunoko's characters are a bit too obscure. I would rather have Toei (One Piece, Zatch Bell) vs. Capcom, or Dentsu (Bleach, Naruto) vs. Capcom
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 14th 2008 2:31PM
No, there aren't. It wouldn't do well.
SFIV on the other hand is gonna sell like hotcakes! Mmmmm, hotcakes...
Dirty @ Nov 14th 2008 2:34PM
Fenix puts up a very compelling argument. Hot Cakes are delicious. Case closed.
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 14th 2008 2:41PM
;)
Anyway, why, and HOW did this turn into a Wii story? This is for SFIV on PS360 ONLY!!!
Mr Khan @ Nov 14th 2008 2:45PM
Because its a fighter made by Capcom, regardless of the platform its on, perhaps?
SuMtOnE @ Nov 14th 2008 2:23PM
Blah!!! I'd rather have CvS Capcom Vs SNK 2 on the PSN & XboxLIVe with online battles =)
Xoviet chiK @ Nov 14th 2008 2:32PM
Bionic Commando, Resident Evil 5, Dark Void, and now Street Fighter IV. Capcom sure knows how to milk the first half of the year. Mmmmm Milk.
Dirty @ Nov 14th 2008 2:50PM
Which is a damn good idea IMO, fall is too busy. Bionic commando would have been lost in the fray. RE5 would be the only game to be able to stand out (despite them all being solid titles). But why compete when you dont have to.
NukeAssault @ Nov 14th 2008 2:33PM
Looks like a need to buy me a fight stick. =D
Jimiisama @ Nov 14th 2008 4:20PM
Hori EX2
Swamp Donkey @ Nov 14th 2008 8:27PM
Capcom is releasing a special arcade stick with the game, so I'd wait for that one.
NukeAssault @ Nov 14th 2008 8:49PM
Interesting... Is it being sold separately or with a bundle of the game? Cause i noticed the special edition is like 20 bucks more. If its not a bundle id just get the hori.

febtober is going to be quite a month. Demigod and SFIV and Killzone 2
Nigeria @ Nov 14th 2008 2:50PM
Whenever I see this game I can't help but compare it to the new King of Fighters. KOF just looks so beautiful, especially when compared to this.
Between Vs Capcom, new KOF, and slowly getting better at Brawl, I don't think I'll ever have time for SF4 - unless I spot it at an arcade, or something.
chris @ Nov 14th 2008 5:07PM
wow. Killzone 2 and Street fighter 4 in the same month, then followed by Resident Evil 4 in march! Great way to start the year.
Chase @ Nov 14th 2008 4:10PM
Good. Perhaps I'll play it now that it's not being released in the holiday chaos.
capt_carl @ Nov 14th 2008 4:28PM

HALODEITY @ Nov 16th 2008 7:39PM
im currently on holiday in japan and street fighter 4 along with tekken 6 are in every arcade here
its a sweet game but i lost a match against some dude lol i prefer tekken 6
Misfit Toy @ Nov 15th 2008 10:42AM
Do want. But, do want at half price. I'll wait on that then pick this up. I can't see myself spending $60 on ANY fighting game ever again. The time I invest in them is so minimal. Fun for a fix, but nothing I dive into for hours on end.
So I guess my release date is more next Fall. Still, happy to see this coming out, especially for the hardcore fighting fans.
Inene @ Nov 17th 2008 11:20PM
they couldn't even make a different cover...
