Good call, I thought that Little Big Planet would have sold alot more, maybe that whole controversy really slowed it down.

yeah the whole "2008 is year of PS3" was a complete joke.

half the games they said were "coming out" this year, never did. Half either flopped in sales, were critically panned, or both (HAZE, Socom).

Hell, motorstorm 2 released 2 weeks ago and has sold a whopping 50,000 copies in the USA.

and im not sure just how the whole "exclusive lineup" of the ps3 even compared to the 360 lineup this winter... gears2+l4d alone take the effin cake.

360's will do that randomly. No moving or anything. Only because it was spinning.

After the 19th, be sure to ONLY play games you've installed to your HDD!

I cannot even believe what I'm reading here. Sony sold over 130,000 PS2's last month? I knew it was still on the market and all but 130k??? Granted, this is the first time I've bothered to stop and look at these figures but wow...

How is that possible? Perhaps given that I only use the 360 at the moment I've tuned out Sony's game plans but that really suprises me.
I had no idea it was still going that strong. I have not played mine in over five years. I don't even know where it is, in some box in the basement I imagine.

Well... Good for them.

Its cheap and there's a Mount Everest size pile of games available for cheap as well. If you've never owned a PS2 and you don't have an HD tv, there's a ton of good gamin' to be had.

Yeah, it makes sense... And as I said, I knew it was still on the market. I just had no idea it was still going this strong. I mean, it's barely below the PS3 for god's sake. That's pretty impressive for a console that has been out for close to a decade.

Also, you need one to play ps2 games, since the ps3 doesn't play back compat games anymore.

Sony (most likley) took out the backward compatibility, so if you still wanted a decent size selection of games to play, you'd need to buy a PS2, which seem to break every 14 months..

Don't know if anyone remembers but the PS2's profits negated the losses on the PS3.. so in effect, PS2 keeps the PS3 afloat...

What I really don't get is why people are still buying into the Wii, I long got bored of mine.. I just haven't got around to offloading it yet.. in my opinion, it's best games were Wii Sports & Red Steel..

WOW. 360 is going strong. Referring to the previous post, LBP sales are a bit deceiving due to that being only 10 days worth of numbers right?

So has Fable II, and I think Fallout 3 also had less days on the market. LBP is disappionting considering all the hype about LBP being "HUGE".

Technically, LBP officially came out on the 27th. After the botched launch with the recall and everything. Very disappointing how Sony handled the whole thing, but I guess it was that or piss of some Muslims.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i heard a few months ago that this was supposed to be the year of the PS3........It seems that guy made a mistake in fact this will be the year of the X360, with more exclusives than any other console and that sweet NXE next week we had a really nice year !!!!

I'm eager to see the X-mas numbers !!!

I think LBP is really just suffering from a lack of marketing to anyone else but existing PS3 fans. The game is great, does some amazing things, but the typical person out there doesn't even know awhat it is.

And, really, Sony's commercials about making your Christmas list with an image of Sackboy mirrored in a window isn't exactly explaining it well.

Actually the typical person DOESN'T wanna know what it is....Honestly it looks t childish to get the Dads and moms to buy their Son the game...I know that sounds dumb but the PS3 is already a Mature system and kids who want a PS3 play sports games and GTA....So LBP wont appeal...Its a great game though.....I love it but nobody will really get to love it as much as I do.

What I get out of this? Want to sell a top 10 Wii game? Bundle it with an accessory.
