I wonder what Nymh's secret for getting to 80 so fast is? He should write a book about it.

No need for a book, we already know.

* Don't to go school or your job
* Wear adult diapers
* Cut off all social contact if he has any
* Have food and water delivered via IV
* Be dependent on your parents or other caregiver
* Play the game nonstop, no breaks, they are for the weak!

Well from what the guy who hit 70 first said after Burning Crusade came out, it basically just involves getting a group, tagging mobs, rinse and repeat... for hours.

There is a difference between a brief marathon (less than 48 hours) and playing non-stop for a long period of time (day, weeks).

Please note the difference.

I think you should explain the difference, because according to what you typed a 48 hour "brief marathon" is less than a "non stop" "day"

Never have played an MMO in my life, not even online games. I almost always play single-player games and if I'm to play multi-player, its going to be split-screen with my friends and cousins.

I feel like one of the very few in this current gen of gamers that doesn't play games online. :/

Man this guy's just as annoying as those pricks who went and rushed through Fallout 3 and then called the game "short". I wonder why they think that...

Anyway, I can't believe no one's posted this yet but here we go

its annoying, but it happens all the time.

games are being played through quickly and excessively to the point of burnout and enjoying the game alot less than you would in moderation.

then complaints arise about NOT ENOUGH CONTENT

what a vicious cycle

I don't get it, Joystiq.

Someone accomplishes something in a game, and just because it takes most people slightly longer to do what he/she did, you assume they've never left their house.

How do you know that they hardly ever play, and just got bored of doing whatever they normally do and decided to rush to level 80?

I understand that 70-80 in a day or so seems like an impossible task to most of you (and to myself, admittedly, I found getting from level 1 to 10 in a day pretty hard to do), but, really, I don't see how you can just accuse people of having no life on the basis that they spent a few hours playing a game.spent a few hours playing a game.

I'm not praising this behavior if it was to constantly happen of anything but I do thing she should be congratulated. Why? Well, I don't understand why people say she has no life. Mainly because if she had done it live and had a donation button for charity you would have also likely congratulated her.

Which is exactly why this was disturbing.

All this devotion for what? To reach level 80 the fastest?

With a meaningless purpose and disgusting drive to go along with that is flat out disgusting.

In her special thanks

I disagree.

"All this devotion for what? To reach level 80 the fastest?"

Yeah, pretty much. I bet you didn't moan at David Blaine for sitting in a box for 48 days with no food just to see if he would survive. Ok, some people thought he was crazy and stupid. However, I never did hear anyone say what he was doing was disturbing.

"With a meaningless purpose and disgusting drive to go along with that is flat out disgusting."

No one said it was discusting either. Although since you think this act was discusting I'm assuming you also think the many other WoW players are discusting. This is mainly due to the fact that of the 11 million WoW players many of them will probably play for 100's if not 1000's of hours. I'd estimate I've spent around 50 since I'm hardly every subscribed to it but really.

"In her special thanks

"Pavelomm was nice enough to stay with me for the last 27 hours and managed to keep me alive for all this time!""

Alive eh? Somehow I don't think she was being serious about that comment. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think she was probably just exadurating.

I honestly don't care if people want to waste their lives away playing WoW, but does it really deserve to be a front page news item?

Breaking News: Some guy is a loser and plays WoW way too much!

wow.. so many perfect people here, you've never wasted your time doing something trivial? By your standards we should all be about the pursuit of the basics and nothing else. food, water, shelter sleep/coma. It was one day. You know nothing about this guy. how do you know he's not independently wealthy with tons of time on his hands? He probably isn't, but its not your place to judge so please shut your traps.

It doesn't bother me, people can do what they want with their lives, but i certainly won't respect the guy/girl. I think people who actually takes their time instead of rushing through content just so they can be first, are the ones who deserve praise but will never get it because of people like this.
