This is a great deal. Too bad I already own everything other than L4D. (And in fact, was forced to buy Episode 1 and HL2 twice because of the damn Orange Box).

That's still only $17 bucks each for 3 of the top games of the year.

What exactly do you mean by "too bad"? You'd rather NOT already own them, so that you could be $99 poorer?

Indeed, plus I gifted my spare HL2 and Ep1 to a friend which spurred him to get into Steam and TF2 etc.

Valve has offered this deal for as long as I can remember. It definitely gets more and more awesome as the years go by, though.

Awesome! Still, nothing can hold a candle to the original Orange Box.

HL2 Silver package not only held a better candle, it lit it.

IIRC:

Half-Life 2
Counter Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
HL2: Lost Coast
Half-Life: Source
Condition Zero
Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes
Codename Gordon
Counter Strike
Half-Life
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Team Fortress Classic
Day of Defeat
Death Match Classic
Opposing Force
Ricochet

Gold Box rocked for Portal and TF2, but unless you didn't already have HL2 and the 2 quick HL2 episodes, it was a good deal, not great.

Wow, I have the orange box on the xbox and TF2 on the pc. Definately buying this.

Anyone know how much space this monster takes up?
Also, see the games I already have, when I "rebuy" then, could I give them to people as a gift (or sell the originals?)

I suggest you buy this pack on a new Steam Account and give the old one away (Or sell it). :)

Yeah, Valve will actually let you gift any title that you own on Steam that you get with the Orange Box to someone else's Steam account.

Yeah Tom, you can give away any game you have as a gift.

I already had HL2, so when I bought Orange Box, I was given 1 gift and was able to give it to a friend of mine who didn't have it.

I assume you can do the same here.

Awesome then, I'll just give one of my friends TF2, Peggle Extreme, HL: Deathmatch and HL:Lost Coast. Nice.

Actually I think the HL2 and Ep1 thing is for people buying the Orange Box only. Apparently if you bought, for example, Just Cause and then later bought the Eidos Collector Pack, you wouldn't be able to gift your second copy of JC to a friend.

Why did this hit the news cycle? Yes it is a great value but it is hardly news, Valve has offered this product since the release of HL2.

You is too smart for words... I'm just saying that fact that valve sells a bundle of all their games isn't really news. But it has had a positive effect for Valve, the Complete Pack is number 5 on the top sellers list. Can we say cha-ching!

good thing left 4 dead isn't a high profile title and any sort of bundle of good games it's included in would garner attention or anything like that.... oh wait.

Still waiting for the bundle that doesnt have games that almost every FPS player already owns. Wheres the bundle that only includes portal/TF2/L4D? Or just TF2/L4D? I dont want to pay for games I bought years ago.

The orange box is $40, and you can buy L4D off amazon etc for a fair price too. Is your only excuse for not buying either of them that they're not in a slightly reduced bundle together?

That's because when microsoft bundles. (See MS Office) it's impossible to get one of the programs you need without buying a ridiculously expensive package with the 4 other programs you don't need. When Valve bundles, you can still buy each game individually if you want but if you want to buy it all you get a better value.

I just beat Portal last night. I must say that Portal alone was worth the $20 I paid for it.(physical copy, I bought Left 4 Dead through steam though) Then I got Team Fortress 2 on top of it, which was awesome.

I'm kind of a valve fanboy.

Love valve, but i'm not really into multiplayer games.

Assuming L4D isn't great in singleplayer, adding up the ones i'd actually play brought me to $95.

Also, i guess the orange box didn't work out so great for me. Played and loved Portal and HL2:Ep2 (and portal was worth the cash). But i've never used anything else in there...

I think Valve should give credits to people who already own some of those games. I have a copy of Half Life 2 I can gift to somebody, but I also got in on the Valve Complete Pack years ago when Steam first launched. I think I've been a member since November 2003...

Quick question to people that know:

If sometime in the future I buy the complete pack (when they've added more games) I can just gift any duplicates to friends, right?

Worth it alone for Left 4 dead, portal, TF2, and peggle. But every other half-life and incarnation of it is totally awesome too.

i agree with above comments its a shame most of these games i have already but on its own l4d is £25 so an extra £25 or so for all valve games is a great deal!
