Variety: Brash to cease operations today
"High-quality theatrical based games" publisher Brash Entertainment is officially dead, as of today, according to a report from Variety. The company is reportedly planning to cease operations, with investors having walked away following co-founder Thomas Tull's departure in October.
No word yet on the fate of Brash's many licensed developments, including Tale of Desperaux, Night at the Museum 2, Saw and the rumored Superman project with Factor 5. We've contacted the company for an official statement.

That's because "High-quality theatrical based games" have been extinct since Goldeneye 007.

And nothing of value was lost.
Seriously, I try to be a nice guy and everything but after Jumper I wanted these guys' heads on sharp stakes on my front lawn.
At least they gave up faster than Acclaim did.

In ll fairness, Acclaim had some good games.
Re-Volt ftw!
John Z @ Nov 14th 2008 1:56PM
Acclaim of old, perhaps, but I like to think that the people responsible for those games died making Turok, and that most everything after that was the result of their undead rotting corpses. Re-Volt, then, would be the equivalent of zombie-Philip turning off the radio.

This is a perfect example of how art and business can collide in a ball of flames. Sometimes creating art by the quality of your projected sales numbers is just not going to work.
Let this be a lesson to the industry.

Factor 5? But i thought they were working on an unspecified Wii project?
Unless that was it (shudders)

Best news all week. They wouldn't have died so fast if it wasn't for the terrible games they made like Alvin and Jumper. Let's hope for the same with other shovelware companies like DSI and Destineer.
