Check your inbox, Fable 2 CE DLC codes have been emailed

If you haven't recently checked your inbox and registered for the Fable 2 Collector's Edition DLC offer, then we advise doing an inbox check this very moment. Reason being, Microsoft just emailed the DLC redemption codes to those who already registered.

If you recall, Microsoft forgot to place the CE exclusive DLC redemption code cards in some copies of the Fable 2 CE, which caused lots of commotion and angry customers. So, team Microsoft setup a website to allow those CE purchasers who didn't get their redemption code a chance to receive the content via registration on the website. And to those who gamed the system, registered for the DLC and never owned the CE, we think the email's opening sentence says it all. "Accept the consequences of your actions" ... mmkay?

I dont even have the game and I got it. So Ill have what ppl paid $10 for for free when I get the game. That blows.

The LCE was $60, and the regular game was $60, so we didn't pay any extra for the content.

The CE's here were 70.

Did you use it? Any ill consequences?

I wasn't meaning to imply that I didn't pay for the CE, but I was just curious, how could they tell?

if i own the game, why do i have to prove i own it if they screwed up? good luck with that one.

I have the non-CE version and I actually got the spartan armor and sword after putting in the code. Didn't think it would happen. So does that mean I get the bonus dungeon as well? Where is it located? lol

I think your a disgrace, i have the LCE one and i had the card, my parents had to struggle to buy it for me because of medical bills we had to pay for me, but they got the LCE for me. And you go and spend less get the codes and its free to you. I hope someone reports you to lionhead and you have a consequence. People like you who do stuff like that make me sick, since we who actual paid the full price deserve it you dont

Call me a cheap bastard, but I'm going to wait for the price drop on Fable II as I really was not super impressed with Fable I. I put in for the code, and with the glut of games now, it would be a good game to play in February/March of next year. I need to put the code in and get the goodies before MS restricts the codes...

Well I could think of one way they could prove if you have the CE or not. They could see if you have ever put the CE disc into your xbox.

The disc's are exactly the same.

The CE comes with two discs.

I'm pretty sure one of them is a making of DVD or something equally silly. Most people that bought it probably won't even watch it.

i bought the game not CE but i was wondering if they would be able to tell..... i think they're just trying to act like something will happen. Like with the pub games exploit where they said that it was intentional blahblahblah did anything really happen to the cheaters?? cause if not i think it's all scare tactics you know like we know and your character will change accordingly when in all reality they messed up and have no way to succesfully weed out the cheaters.

Between this and the "exclusive" vehicles for Saints Row that were just cheat codes anyone could use, it makes me never not want to preorder or get limited editions ever again.

I figured this out long ago. Those special editions are such a scam. Even when they do include actual exclusive stuff its usually not worth anything near the extra money you pay.

They can't prove anything. Unless they were provided codes that specifically proved you were an CE owner, like they did with the Gears artbook in Canada (you needed to have the gold lancer code entered in) - there's no way to confirm anything.

For anyone who bought the CE, I'd slam that thing back into the store right away.

Microsoft is starting to really wane away for me. Other than Gears, Mass Effect and the online system, I really see very little reason to buy anything else for the console.

I won't use it for movie files, and I won't use it for HD DVDs. All of that will be focused onto the PS3, simple as that.

That was a preorder bonus, not part of the LE.

Oh, this is great, I can't wait....oh, nevermind I already sold this game after beating it.

Fable was decent but the storyline and the social aspects of the game were total fails for me. The game only succeeded in its combat and breadcrumb system.

Its entirely possible that the disk that was in the LE box has a different internal code, and what took them so long to put up the replacement was programming something into it that will check the disk code and report back. I cant say they did, but it is possible.

When Halo 3 came out I bought the Collector's edition. I wanted to watch the bonus features before I got in to a huge 12 hour first session, but on the inside of the case was a big green sticker; "Important! Insert Game Disc first"

is it just the spartan armor? or bonus dungeon as well?

I wonder what those consequences are.

Maybe everyone will laugh at you when you wear the armor. :p

I have already traded this game in to buy Gears 2 though, HMV had an offer where i could buy it for £6.99 if i traded in Fable II, Fallout 3 or some other game i can't remember.

@Yamagushi, you do realize that his parents probably got Fable 2 for his birthday. Its not like he forced his parents to get it for him because he HAD to have the game. They probably wanted to get him the game because of what he's gone through seeing as they're struggling with medical bills. So please tell me how his parents being kind makes him worse than someone who basically stole $10 worth of stuff?

That's what I was thinking too.

You can't assume it was a birthday gift, he never said that. When you buy the LCE you are paying $10 for a disc on the making of the game. The armor was a ploy to get people to pony up extra money. I hope nobody believes that the armor is worth $10. Gamers complained about paying for horse armor years ago, why would they pay 4x as much for this armor? Lionhead offered the codes to everyone. They knew people without the LCE would get it and don't seem to care, why should anyone else?

How is it that someone selfish enough to make their parents buy them a game they could barely afford complain about other people who most likely paid for it with THEIR OWN MONEY. Do you think Lionhead cares? They'd rather give everyone the code and be liked by everyone instead of being disliked by the few that bought the limited edition. At least they're considerate towards their customers which are complete strangers, you have no consideration for your own parents or your own hospital bills. You could have waited until the price came down but you had to have it now, didn't you? Bills be damned!

It worked for me and i didn't but the CE or LE. Just Spartan armor with the sword.

So I got the sword in the new dungeon... but whenever I try to open the Guild Cave chest it tells me to go to fable2.com to find out more, blah blah blah.

So I don't know whats up with that.

Did you follow the directions and first save your game in the cave before DLing the content?

No, I missed that until after. That shouldn't have any barring on how DLC content works tho. Just to be careful I deleted the DLC, saved in the cave and redownloaded the DLC and that still did not work.

If the consequences of my actions include receiving free DLC, then so be it ;X

To all you dorks how had to have the LE and feel down, just think of it as a lesson learned! Don't buy LE unless it comes w/ oh I don't know a t-shirt or asexual messenger bag or faceplate or figurine, that people can't download from the pirate bay or xbl marketplace a month after the game drops!

And to dark desires, I think you're a selfish little bastard that should make the world a better place and pull the plug!
