We've all heard that life imitates art -- but we rarely hear of instances of life imitating video games (LARPing events notwithstanding). However, a certain 42-year-old Turkish citizen who recently decided to end his seven-year prison sentence prematurely must have been a sizable Metal Gear Solid fan -- using a five-foot by four-foot cardboard box set aside for stationary shipment, the Turk (whose name has yet to be revealed to the media) effectively mailed himself out of a German prison.
Police expect that the once-incarcerated man, who is still at large, had help both on the outside and the inside, though his fellow prisoners are remaining tight-lipped about his Solid Snake-esque evacuation. One of his accomplices reportedly spoke to authorities about the former inmate's other escape tactics -- one involved distracting his jailers with a bevy of nudie mags, while another required the man to wait for the prison's night guard to inexplicably announce his fatigue to his captivated audience.

That guy is full of awesome, now this should give inspiration for someone to make a real octo-cam, which my dream of that happening will not be possible.
now i hope i don't start hearing riots from parents stating:
VIDEO GAMES CAUSE PRISONER TO ESCAPE PRISION
it would show video games can help with real-life situations but also not really

This has nothing to do with metal gear solid. Like in any way.

Well it's not like the box was floating in the air or anything...If he was laying down or kneeling in the box whenever it was picked up the carrier would be holding under his body.

Kurt Wimmer is rumoured to be directing the MGS movie.
Wimmer is a surname of German origin.
This is a story based in Germany.
Therefore this is video game related.

lol we love MGS here in Turkey. Sadly the PS3 is like $630 though, but the internet cafes all have them in so we can enjoy Snake's latest escapade.
Shame on this guy for his drug dealing antics (Making Turks look bad abroad) but props on his MGS style escape! Bring the bastard back here, our prison guards are certainly infamous for their ahem "harsh" tactics.
