Seriously, your eyes have been through a lot lately -- all-night gaming marathons, subjection to Repo! The Genetic Opera, possible self-gouging as a result of subjection to Repo! The Genetic Opera -- don't you think they've deserved a little positive visual stimulus? We're happy to deliver this to you in the form of some new screenshots from Platinum Games' stylish, carnage-filled action title, MadWorld. They may lack the brownish hues and bloom lighting we've come to expect from current-gen titles, but despite these deficits, we're sure you can find something to gleefully ogle in the gallery below.

I'm seriously considering buying a Wii just for this game.
It's going to be awesome.

We can safely say it's going to LOOK awesome. Whether it will BE or PLAY awesome, I'm still awaiting evidence.

So which Wii games *have* actually been officially price-reduced? I didn't think any were (I mean, some are in bargain bins, but you know, an official rerelease at reduced price etc).
RE4:Wii was already pretty damn cheap - although of course it's less of a bargain if you already played it on GC or PS2 (it's an improvement over both, but you're still playing the same game again).

Wait, wasn't No More Heroes crap?
I distinctly remember hearing bad things about it.

@J. Goodwin:
I didn't play it either but the general consensus about No More Heroes seemed to be that there was a good game in there among some obvious flaws. I.e. a good game with crap bits, rather than just 'crap'.
Or to put it another way: Metacritic 83, so 'no, it's not crap'.

No More Heros is a must try, but perhaps not a must buy. I bought it to support the new development team as it is proof of original concepts that is fun to play if perhaps repetitive halfway through. Good mix of action with an enjoyable, comically melodramatic and well executed story.

Is it me or am I the only one who thinks this looks like crap. No more heroes blew, this will be just as bad. It's going to play like mini games, you can't tell what the heck is going on and it looks ugly.

That big round circular duct looks like a Marcus Feenix view of the throat of the lake monster in GoW 2. The rest looks like.....the Beatles crossing Abbey Road...heh!

I don't think it looks good. stylized brawler, woo hoo? also, the artstyle, even in motion, makes it hard to tell the placement of items and enemies.

I agree.
And those screenshots gave me a terrible migraine. Thanks, Joystiq, I really needed that.

Well from the looks of the screenshots the game certainly look interesting. I like the graphics and stylized sin city like world. I will keep this one on my radar and cross my fingers that it sells well if it's good. I would almost bet that this game hardly moves any copies because it doesn't really appeal to the Wii crowd. From these screenshots and from the short trailer I remember seeing in the past this game looks extremely difficult to navigate.
Having said all of that it is a breathe of fresh air for a game like this to come to the kid friendly Wii. Assuming the game turns out good, this is something I hope to see allot more of in the future Wii releases.

Mr.Khan
Yeah I wonder what reasonable sales expectation of this game are. What do you think a fair expectation would be?

It probably would do well if it came out right before xmas, (which apparently won't happen). Considering the current and not-too-distant-future landscape of Wii titles, I think it could sell better on the Wii than on any other platform, during this time frame. It's like throwing a somewhat gristly steak to a pack of dogs who've had nothing but bones to chew on since SBB.

Here's to hoping they don't censor blood in Europe as they did with No More Heroes. Fucks.

this game has one of the coolest and most original art syles I've seen in a game since Jet Grind Radio for the Dreamcast. I love the black and white graphical styling, which is also very detailed. I hope the game runs as smoothly as the trailers we saw. I'm hoping this turns out great.

This game is going to live or die by the animations. I looks cool in stills but it's hard to discern what's interactive and what isn't. Likewise, turning all lighting and shading off doesn't help the matter.

If there are contrasting darks, then this will be AWESOME. (as long as gameplay is good).

I love the concept (mindless violence!) but the visuals are hard on my peepers.
