Metal Gear Online's MEME hitting the scene on Nov. 25

Joining the battlefield (as seen in three new maps) are Mei Ling and perpetual source of mean, Liquid Ocelot. We look forward to shooting him in the, uh ... spleen?
What a stupid, stupid post.
MEME expansion details:
Three new maps: Silo Sunset (from Portable Ops), Forest Firefight and Winter Warehouse
Two new special characters
- Liquid Ocelot - Has the ability to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots lock system with the Guns of the Patriots ability. In multiplayer, the Guns of the Patriots deactivates targeted enemies' entire weapon system
- Mei Ling - Has three special techniques - Trench Mortar, Soliton Sonar, and the ability to transfix an enemy
- No Headshot Setting: In this setting, headshots do not equal instant death. Headshots will cause the same amount of damage as a regular shot to the body
- Stealth Death Match: In this mode, you will begin the match with stealth turned on
- Interval: In this mode, players can practice strategy and also chat with each other without worrying about ranking or records
- Enables players to compete in a series of difficult battles where the winning player wins in-game gear and/or reward points that can be spent on character customization
- Crocodile Cap: featured in Metal Gear Solid 3
- New Hair Styles
- Ghillie Suite: Metal Gear Solid 3's sniper boss camo

what in fact a great, abstract, surreal post.
j.howlett @ Nov 17th 2008 6:15PM
it wasn't that stupid

my problem with this is the problem I have with the GTA IV DLC. It's just to little to late for me to give a crap. Besides, the online portion of MGS IV needs some overhaul more so than content updates. If they allowed me to use my PSN ID and purchase this content on the PSN storefront I might feel a little different about it. Konami ID = Fail.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Nov 17th 2008 8:15PM
Well the difference between this and the GTA IV dlc is taht the GTAIV dlc actually ads to the story. So I think that's enough incentive to pop in GTA
sk8monroe81 @ Nov 17th 2008 8:39PM
MGO sucks.. end of story.
tactical nothing..
maps to small, turns into running and gunning.
went back to cod4 after a few days.
johnny thats part of the problem with PSN.
there is no set online standard and no rules for developers to follow. they do not have xbox live system to fall back on when it comes to online gaming and online support. microsoft really helps out with that stuff.
and btw. a lot of people will want to play the gta4 DLC on the 360, because it extends the game with new stuff.

good for them. Frankly, none of us know if it will expand the story. We still don't even know what the content is. My opinion is that it is not relevant. To little to late for me to give a crap. If you care about then go ahead and buy it.
I wouldn't say MGO is run and gun - in fact, that tells me you have never even played it. Actually the problem with it is that is much to paced. That works fine for the single player in which you are a sneaking spy but the multiplayer needs a bit of a speed boost.
As for the PSN knock because of a konami ID. Thats just retarded. Sony has a store in which Konami could have sold it's content on and they also could have used PSN ID's. Instead, they wanted to keep all the monies and make people use the Konami portal. Has nothing to do with the network.
Keep trolling though. It's becoming borderline pathetic.
Nailio @ Nov 17th 2008 6:24PM
A meme pack? I expect at least several references to CRAB BATTLE.
Moptimus Slime @ Nov 17th 2008 6:29PM
I here this expansion will never give you up
EasterSmoot @ Nov 17th 2008 7:28PM
But the real question is, will it ever let you down.
Ihavepants @ Nov 17th 2008 7:53PM
I heard from a guy I know who knows a guy at Komani, that they're hoping to never "run you 'round"
Pudge @ Nov 17th 2008 8:13PM
To those loyal to Metal Gear online, Konami has said that this expansion proves that they will never desert you.
Questworld @ Nov 17th 2008 10:52PM
This whole line of comments is going to make me cry. It's that sad.
Ah, crud.
zuburi @ Nov 17th 2008 6:36PM
Wait, can someone confirm if Milhouse is in this?
GatorSax2010 @ Nov 17th 2008 8:43PM
Milhouse is not in MEME.
Omega2k3 @ Nov 18th 2008 11:53PM
However, Konami has stated that Milhouse not being in MEME is in MEME.
Slaziman @ Nov 17th 2008 6:42PM
You can tell a Ludwig post apart from the rest from a mile away.
Grant @ Nov 17th 2008 7:03PM
"No Headshot Setting: In this setting, headshots do not equal instant death. Headshots will cause the same amount of damage as a regular shot to the body"
Wtf? Why would you ever want that? Lets not reward skilled players with precision and accuracy, yeah, that makes sense.
Pudge @ Nov 17th 2008 8:15PM
I hope in the next one they have an option to set Headshot damage to any body part. Finally my dream of the Crotchshot video game will be at hand!!
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Nov 17th 2008 7:12PM
I would actually purchase these expansions if they were available on
the PSstore. But unfornately, there not, and having to buy something
from the Konami store is exactly too smart of an idea. It is way
easier for me to use my PSN card and buy these expnasions.
And yes, I enjoy MGO.
plake @ Nov 17th 2008 7:13PM
GREAT, GREAT POST! :D
Albanian_Killa @ Nov 17th 2008 7:31PM
Again, who still plays MGO? I quit LONG ago. I couldn't deal with the dis-integration on the PSN and the server issues. A big hassle. Konami screwed up a real potential.
Who wants to buy from the MGO shop?
Slayer @ Nov 17th 2008 7:44PM
I still play MGO and I still buy from the MGO shop.
sk8monroe81 @ Nov 17th 2008 8:43PM
another reason that PSN is no where near where xbox live is... lol.
this was a joke.
the whole konami ID and konami store thing.
let me give you my address and email to play your game online.
hey if my girl or friend wants to play too we have to purchase another character.. lol.
Dan CiTi @ Nov 17th 2008 11:35PM
@sk8monroe81
No. It was not Sony's decision. If it was on 360, there would probably be Konami IDs. Like MMOs do on 360(FFXI is similar).
el serpiente @ Nov 18th 2008 9:55AM
You don't have a girl sk8. Your xbox with a wig on doesn't count...
Sackolantern PSN ID: johnnynumber5 @ Nov 18th 2008 1:55PM
how does this have anything to do with the PSN or the Playstation Store? This was a choice Konami made so they could collect all the monies. Period.
CLOUD9 @ Nov 17th 2008 8:15PM
I still play MGO also and I'm planning on buying this expansion. I've actually been looking foward to playing as Mei Ling. I want to transfix an enemy and trench motar that mofo. Sounds like fun.
Pudge @ Nov 17th 2008 8:16PM
This would be news if -RELOADING- I wasn't already going to be playing -RELOADING- a much more superior game for the next month or so.
CLOUD9 @ Nov 17th 2008 8:27PM
Yeah I'm gonna have to juggle this and Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead is going to be godly. The Infected are everywhere. I think I just started drooling. I hope 7/11 sells me a copy early.
Questworld @ Nov 17th 2008 10:54PM
I'll just wait and see if these things will be available on a possible future re-release of MGS4 like the last three or four games.
brisknrocket @ Nov 18th 2008 5:23PM
I still play MGO, but idk about buying this expansion. At least we still get the modes :D
