You're going to be seeing this picture circulated a lot in the coming days, so we just wanted to get out in front of it for you. Yes, the above image, which hints at new Battletoads and Jet Force Gemini games, can be found in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. But no, you should absolutely not take that to mean that any of those games are actually coming. It says as much in the image itself, but that won't stop the internet from crushing itself under the weight of its own excitement.
As recently as today, Rare talked about how its next project is going to surprise people. We're not sure that points to a lot of its franchises being revived.
... We can still hope though, right?

I've only played the demo, but I can't see any way in which this game doesn't suck.
As a platform game, the characters have minimal abilities.
As a creative construction game, it lacks the flexibility and sharing that makes LittleBigPlanet good.
As a driving game, the vehicle dynamics suck.
Some of the missions (like defend-the-eyeballs) and collecting would seem better suited and more fun to play on foot, but the scale is set for vehicles.

Does a platformer really need an excessive amount of moves? Banjo can jump, swim, attack, and grab ledges. So or old school as far as platforming goes, but I fail to see anything wrong with that. The vehicles are where you're supposed to get additional abilities.

Ridiculous. It's not a level creation game. You're supposed to make vehicles. And if you're claiming it's not flexible then you know nothing about the game. You can make everything from cars (of all kinds), to motorcycles, to planes, to balloons, to helicopters, to board, to jets, and literally every combination of everything listed.
One of the best features of the game is the ability to check the leaderboards for each individual challenge and watch the replays of how they did it. It's amazing to see what some people have done to complete challenges. Many of have thought way outside the box, which is where this game excels. You're clearly still in the box.
"As a driving game, the vehicle dynamics suck."
No, they don't. If you're vehicle controls poorly it's likely your fault. The type (and amount) of wheels, amount of power, and weight ditribution matter quite a bit. Even the bow shape matters for boats. The controls work fine unless.

Well... WTF? I screwed up a fair number of things in my post. I meant to list "boats" as a vehicle, not "boards". Not sure what happened there. And I meant to delete that "unless" at the end of the last sentence. I was originally going to say "unless you're expecting Forza".

Just to add to that list.. I built a 'Banjo Gundam' which is a giant robot that represents Banjo.. stands about 50 ft. tall and has a bunch of cool gadgets.
Seriously.. the flexibility of this game is only restricted by your mind. The closest thing you could look at this as, is your own massive set of LEGOs.

What's the deal with Donkey Kong games? Can Nintendo put the old DK Country and DK64 games on VC, or are they in like the n-dimension because Rare developped them and are owned by Microsoft now?
But seriously, JET FORCE GEMINI 2 NOW PLZ KTHX.

I don't know why nobody likes that game, I loved it. But then again, I was really young back when I played it so maybe it does suck?

You know, I didn't like DK64 when it first came out. Collectathons and gimmicky character-switching FTL. But I played it again a couple of years later and I didn't find it so bad the second time. Certainly Nintendo has nothing to lose, and only more money to gain, by releasing it on the VC.

Gamestop gave my pre-order code away, so I refused to buy Banjo from them. As a matter of fact, I'm so pissed at them that I've resolved to never shop at those stores again! Ha-RUMPH!
That said, I would dance a stupid little happy dance if Rare were to make a new Jet Force Gemini, Killer Instinct or Battle Toads.
...just as long as they kept more true to the originals, unlike Banjo :\

A new Jet Force Gemini would be nothing short of absolutely epic. That is probably the most fun i've ever had playing a video game, after HL2. I'd be on that like flies on shit.

I would be surprised if they make a game that people actually want.
From the interview: "When we built that Banjo we didn't just want to build another high-def platform game"
Another? The 360 has no AAA-quality platform games. (There are some mediocre titles, but it's unfair to judge the genre on those.)

All the good platformers are on the XBLA. Can somebody please just rip off Mario or Zelda or revisit the well of old games and release a good platformer? I'm not asking for huge innovations or anything, just a fun game that holds true to some of the ideals of old. I'm getting pretty tired of 1st/3rd person shooter all the time.

Mega Man 9 should be a clue to developers like Rare that new old-school games can be profitable. Instead of trying to develop new stuff for the 360 and failing, why not develop some sequels for the XBLA?
I don't understand why they tried to push out N&B when they know that everyone wanted a sequel. And since everyone seems to be clamoring for sequels to KI, Battletoads, and GFJ, why not make them?

A new Battletoads on XBLA would be pretty friggin' awesome.
But for Jet Force G emini or Killer Instinct, they'd have to go all out.
...although a little throwaway 2D JFG on XBLA would be cool, too, since the original was kind of a throwback to arcade shooters.

N&B ARE better than the other 2.. by FAR. The only reason why people are hating on it is because it's so different.. but honestly? This game pwns. Do NOT listen to the reviews.
Metacritic: (1UP and EGM are the same thing)
1UP - 91/100
This is a game people should be playing online and off years after it's release
EGM - 69/100*
