Tomb Raider: Underworld launch trailer is crackin'

But it seems we underestimate the lithe leading lady's prowess in Tomb Raider: Underworld, her first built-for-next-gen adventure in archeology and endangered animal slaughter. Or in the case of one particular and rather large tentacled beast, endangering animal slaughter. See what we mean by viewing the trailer after the break.

Well, I didnt mean to be uncomplimentary..havent tried previous Tomb Raider titles because I always associated it with horrible controls, but there was a long sequnce on some TV channel and the controls seem sweet and the gameplay / puzzles were pretty good. Again, dont know if its identical to previous titles, but I suspect this is a much improved edition in this series. And I could compare with Uncharted which I have played and loved, this seems very similar which is great.

They look to be cut from the same cloth. Its like seeing Uncharted with a Tomb Raider skin. and more bitching Monsters.

Like was pointed out before.. The gameplay here is the same as Tomb Raider Legend, which was released before even the PS3 was out.
And both games are heavily "inspired" by Prince of Persia.

You could try Legend or Anniversary, both of which are very cheap now. And this is a continuation of the story set up in those two.

It's pretty easy to compare Uncharted with Tom Raider but honestly the last 5 games were crap except Legend, Legends was a pretty good game and this new one seems that is going to rock.
On the other hand Uncharted was a fucking awesome game and I'm looking forward for a sequel.

Of course it's easy to compare Uncharted and Tomb Raider since Uncharted took TR's play book, dialed back the acrobatics and dumbed down the puzzles to the point of insulting.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Drake's, for the most part, but I didn't enjoy it for the same reasons I enjoy a tomb raider game. Why? Because they're two different TYPES of games. You can't go into one game expecting to play it like the other because they were never meant to...the fact that so many people are seriously comparing the two simply shows how many people don't really know what the hell they're talking about.

"The last five games were crap" because they were made by different developers. Crystal Dynamics took over with Legend and made a complete overhaul of the series.

Does it seem like they're actually modeling from Angelina Jolie's face now? Ever since the movies came out, it seems Lara's slowly turning into a clone of Angelina, rather than some random fictional character.

I've played the PC demo from BigDownload: I've said it once and I'll say it again, Tomb Raider Underworld has phenomenal visuals for environments. Sure, it isn't realistic at all when you kill sharks and tigers on the first level Chuck Norris style, but it's still a lot of fun for those who are into exploration.

This game rocks. I played the demo and some of the actual game due to a friend that got an "early" copy. Controls aren't perfect but due very well, and the scenery and animation of character are great.
