Can someone tell me how exactly one can become a "platinum" or "gold" member? Does it have something to do with how many games you've registered, or is it some additional fee you have to pay?

Those two designations are completely based on how many games you have registered (and therefore, how many points you accumulate) within the year. No additional fee is required.

By the way, allow me to gloat: as a 2008 platinum member, I placed my order for the golden Wii Wheel just a few hours ago. It should arrive by the end of March.

Ah yes, I also remember controlling Oddjob with a golden Wii Wheel.

Damn, I REALLY want that Mario cap. I've always wanted one, but I knew that the only way I could get an authentic-looking one would be to make one myself.

Now I don't have to. If that doesn't end up coming to America in the future, I'll have to get one on ebay or something, I just NEED ONE!!

I've got a pretty big head, here's hoping it'll fit me perfect.
