Yes. But I also happen to be a PS360 guy. Or maybe I'm a PS(P)360 guy? I dunno. I spend too much money for a college guy is the point. I'm a Sony fanboy at heart though.

Yep, I got my PSP-2000 about half a year after I got my PS3.

I own a PSP but not a PS3. In fact, I'm planning to get a 360 instead. Games in that platform look much more appealing to me.

I got a PSP right from the start, but it wasn't until LittleBigPlanet was announced (and got close to release) that I decided I really wanted a PS3.

I think it's still a question of content. If a console has something you want, you'll get it. Otherwise, no amount of "synergy" is going to make someone buy 2 systems just because they can work together in some way.

PSP: Yes
PS3: No

Wii seems to have the Innovation, Xbox360 seems to have the games, and the PS3 seems to have the Price (I don't see why you'd get one unless you were rich and felt like sharing to all your friends "I HAVE A PS3, SUCKERS!!").

I think I initially looked at a PS3 b/c I already had a PSP which I bought used from a co-worker for $90. I frankly don't use that all that much together as I've found remote play flaky and other uses few and far between.

Nonetheless, having one opened the door to considering the other.

its more like a quarter of psp owners have ps3's if you ask me. everyone i know with a ps3 says they dont do handheld gaming i always try to convince then into geting a psp. on a other note anyone think microsoft is gona step into the handheld market?

@Shoyz: I'm not rich; I got the PS3 because most of the games on the 360 are also on the PS3 (FPSs aren't my favorite genre anyways), and with the PS3 I never have to worry about whether my system will be working in order to play the games. Having a ton of good games (which I freely admit 360 does) is meaningless if your system is off somewhere getting fixed. I know the RROD isn't as big an issue now, but when I bought my PS3 it was.

@mindshed: I feel you on the N64 thing, I did the same, but in this era of diminishing exclusives I don't think it's as big a deal as it used to be.

@bryan: Zune? Maybe just expand on that instead of a true competitor?

you bet! i got my psp-1000 at launch and my star wars ceramic white psp-2000 at launch too. then i got my ps3 when the mgs4 bundle came out. god i love both of them. the sad thing is that i was horribly bored with my psp until i hacked it. what's sadder is that i mostly play super mario brothers 3. :(

yup i got both psp slim and ps3.I recently bought ps3 early this november heck i bought my psp last year in late november 2007.So i bought psp first then my ps3.

I only own a PSP, and will only ever buy a PS3 when the price drops down to 50$ or so and Final Fantasy XIII and XIV are both 10$ used.

And I find it incredibly stupid that Sony will probably use the 50% figure to turn the PSP into an extension of the PS3, so that people who own a PSP won't be able to play anything, really, unless they've got their PS3 hooked up and ready to go. I DON'T WANT a 500$ add-on for my PSP. I've already paid too much for extras for my PSP that should have come in the box. I'm not giving any more money to Sony.

I own both systems. I got my PS3 about 6 months before my PSP and I like how they're trying to incorporate more things to work between systems. I have a japanese psn account and I downloaded the ad-hoc party beta and it is absolutely AMAZING. Finally I can play multiplayer without having to be near each other. Even though there are some lag issues this is one of Sony's better ideas. I never figured out XlinkKai. Hopefully they'll release it stateside and fix the bugs and things because this could turn out to be a very successful thing.

I do confirm I do have a PSP and a PS3. I got the PSP after I bought the PS3, partly due to remote play and I wanted to play emulators on a better screen than the Nintendo DS. I also have a Wii and a DS, and a Gamecube and a Gameboy Advance.

I got my PSP a few months before the PS3. It actually pushed me towards the PS3 instead of the 360. I wasn't sure which I would do when I had the cash, but whenever I give Sony a chance they always wow me.

I don't own a ps3 and will not because the price is so high. If they lowered it to $100 ever I would consider it

I've got a PSP (2 PSPs, 1001 and 2001) and a 360. I wanted a PS3, just couldn't justify buying a PS3 for the price ($500 when I bought the 360 for $300). I don't have a HDTV or Wireless internet, so I didn't need a blu ray player.

I gotta say, if Sony treats the PSP as a PS3 peripheral I won't be too happy. I bought the PSP as a gaming platform. Up until 2008, I was happy with it as one. But then the games stopped coming.

The other half own either a DS or iPhone or both.

One if you don't judge a console with its games then there really isn't much point; the ps3 would win easily (bluray).

Anyways 50 dollars for online service is alot like you said thats a full game (which most last me more than 10 hours) Also since you don't own any of the consoles don't you think its a little unfair to say that xbox live > PSN? PSN works fine and I run into very little lag, it has trophies and a good friend system. And as much as I can tell Xboxlive and PSN arn't down more than the other (you just have to pay for one).

No matter what you say about HD's ( I would go with the $300 xbox with the 60gb) You're going to need more than 20gb. Its really nice tossing a bunch of downloaded titles or music/movies on it. Also the top of the line ps3 has 160gb. 160>120 (if you can ever fill that up)

When you say entire xbox library are you referring to a modded box?

Different promotions happen; I bought my ps3 with my flatscreen and got 100 off. WOOT! Sony 40" 1080p LCD btw.

For one thing bluray is not going to die. There are already 13 million bluray players (ps3's) and that is a sizeable market. I rock the netflix, blurays in the mail!

And wifi isn't discussed, I'm not talking best deal lets build a xbox 360. I'm comparing consoles in there stock form against each other. An official xbox wifi adaptor is 99.99.

Yet again to reiterate you can't say PSN sucks in comparison to Xbox live when you don't own either systems. Idiot.

And *off-topic*, if the quality of the PSP's built will deteriorate with every reiteration, I'm not upgrading.

I got a PSP slim.. it sits beneath my TV collecting dust.. My 360 is the only games 'machine' I bother with, with a ton of games.. got about 5 games for my PSP, most of which have been played for 30minutes..

PS3 is the only one I don't have, because in my opinion, it doesn't have enough to offer me.. each E3 seems to be a last ditch sales attempt from Gil of the Simpsons..

Got both - I use my ps3 as more of a media hub than anything....I haven't bought a whole lot of games b/c all of the demos I get from PSN suffice... got a short attention span for games. it's been great since they added Divx... wished they would add that to the psp...

The remoteplay feature is cool, esp if you have a media cable to out the psp to a tv when you're away. Sony should expand on this concept and allow the streaming of the PS3 media (music, photos, and movies) to other devices - then it will become the media hub that they've hoped it would. I initially had an xbox but traded it in for a PS3 since once you add the wifi adapter and hard drive, the price got up there too. I love the fact that sony decided to go with a stock sata laptop drive in the ps3... upgraded mine to a 320GB for all of the movies and demos I have on there.

I have a PSP (Phat) and a 60Gb PS3, but I got my PSP first, not just as a mobile gaming system, but also as a mobile media player.

I got a PS3 because I like the games on it, and being a BluRay player is a bonus too.

PSP: 2000

Got PSP to put movies etc onto so I could watch things on way to work (as well as play games). Then PlayTV would allow me to copy recordings stright from PS3 to PSP (as I'm not in a hotspot)...oh.....no..... Sony doesnt allow that..... Grrrrrrr....

So now; record on PS3 (PlayTV), export to 'Video', copy to PC, convert to PSP, copy to PSP, watch on train/coach

Oh well..... :-(
