Sins has never been about single player campaigns. You can't have both great multiplayer and single player. The SC2 delay/expansion pack announcment proves this. It's a monumental effort to flesh out a story line and balance gameplay. And even then the story is ussually rift with cliches. Besides, most game developers aren't great story tellers or writers. I much rather prefer the developers to continue the fantastic work they have put forth balancing the multiplayer while listening to the community. This to me is what makes Sins so great: the continual developer support of the gameplay long after its initial release. The game is as different now from it's initial release as WoW is.

For great story lines I much prefer to read a book or watch a movie. If you want single player focused gameplay can I suggest an Xbox or maybe Fallout?

I agree, when I was playing the Supreme Commander campaigns they seemed incredibly tacked on, definitely a case of the story being written for the levels, not the levels being designed for the story.

further evidence: World in Conflict. Great story, yes--from a forest perspective, not the trees--but the campaign turned me off so much I didn't even get far into it.

Personally I think Sins setting is intriguing and with a good writer it could easily be turned into an exceptional story based campaign(s)

Maybe... but i tend to play games for the story... so i'm not buying it until there's a single player campaign.

They are under no obligation to add one, but it would widen it's appeal.

This patch represents the culmination of 3 public betas since 1.05. Pretty beefy patch.

For all those people who compain that Sins isn't on Steam, remember you can add any exe to your Steam client.

Remember too that single player campaigns serve a valuable tool, which we've seen blizzard employ to great effect.

By creating a structure by which players are introduced to more advanced tactics and options as the game progresses, it not only gives a steady feeling of progression but it also teaches how to use each in a steady and controlled environment.

Jumping into Sins is not like picking up Mario Brothers, and their tutorial sucks hard. Even a 4-5 map campaign for each faction would go a long way towards making the game more inviting and interesting for the less hardcore 4X gamers out there.

ps. Random maps are also BORING AS HELL.
