Oh yeah, I'd like to add a couple for ps3: haven't kept up with price cuts; worse backwards compatibility capabilities of the 3

That last one depends on the model. I have a launch PS3 and it's BC is worlds better than the 360. Plus it's BC with the last two generations (Xbox doesn't go back two generations, but that does beat out the Wii). The current new models are only BC with the PS1 generation.

You are aware that the 360 controllers work just fine with standard AA rechargeable batteries.

Nothing proprietary about those.

@Ordeith

You are correct that the Xbox 360 controllers are usable out of the box, even coming with batteries. However when compared to the wireless PS3 controllers which at the same price, come with built-in batteries that hold their charge longer than regular batteries, don't have to be replaced, and can be charged with a standard USB cable, I consider the Xbox controllers to be less convenient and less of a value. You pay $65 MSRP for the equivalent of a dualshock 3 at $55 MSRP. Not only is the ps3 option cheaper, you don't have to make separate purchases. I consider this an apples to apples comparison that doesn't account for preference. I do prefer the 360 controller, but the ps3 is a better value and more convenient.

I look at the PS3 as a fine wine. It gets better with age.

Sure, I have everything. PS3, 360, Wii, PSP, DS, gaming laptop,etc. I enjoy them all. They all bring something unique to it's platform.

The 360 has done a great job of bringing the gaming console online and creating a ginormous online community. It has also evolved with its NXE (which at first I hated, but am trying to get used to it).

The PS3 is getting there and it's still establishing its identity as a console. It's behind, but it IS evolving.

So if you keep a positive outlook on the gaming industry as a whole, you can appreciate that we gamers are getting a wealth of options of software, hardware and online capabilities. And in the PS3's case, you have the added multi-media centric aspects as well.

Just give the PS3 time and we will ALL reap the rewards of what this system has to offer.

I like the advances that are slowly happening with the PS3 online. It's a really cool feature of LIVE to be able to log in from your computer/phone and see who's online, who got which achievement yesterday or whatever, send a message, accept a friend request... all away from the console.

I like the PS3 a lot but Sony can't seem to get out of their own way for their life - it really needs this sort of integration, so I'm glad it's finally coming to the PS3 world.
