I wonder if they'll price it lower to get maximum downloaders, or... The most expensive thing ever on Xbox LIVE (well, Lumines LIVE+DLC probably takes that).

$30 for 1,500 points here, so I'm hoping its cheap.

Sadly, it's not even close, as you'd need 9,750 points ($121.83) to grab all of the DLC for Ace Combat 6.

Or all the Rock Band/Rock Band 2 songs awhile down the road. :D

On topic though, I really would like to find out pricing and content. With so many great games on 360 (not to mention other platforms), I may unfortunately have to pass.

Why is the USA Today not showing big american teeeties, cousin!?

On a serious note, I barely care at this point. Sure, I'll get it, and play it at some point, but meh.

Really I would only pay for DLC if it was another city or different environment as rumored before.

DLC that still takes place in Liberty City and only expands the story seems kinda sleep-inducing unless they add a lot of interesting content.

If GTA 4 needs anything it's interesting content. The regular game itself is pretty sleep inducing.

This DLC needs to put pretty much all the cool shit from san andreas in it for me to have any interest in it.

Maybe the downloadable content is going to be like another game in itself. I mean, think of how easy that would be. The character models, the engines, the whole thing is right there, and all it needs, to be a completely different experience, is another plot. And they've had plenty of time to flesh this thing out.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, done.

You know, I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't been more on Rockstar about promoting this, like showing a teaser at E3 or X08 or anything. Given GTAIVDLC had been Microsoft's big trump card against Sony leading up to the release of GTA IV, it strikes me as odd they have just seemingly forgotten the $50 million they gave Rockstar to secure this exclusive. Given exclusive DLC is the new extent of console exclusivity (hell, they've announced exclusive DLC for 360 versions of Fallout 3 and Tomb Raider, and for the PS3 version of Mirror's Edge), I'm surprised the first announced case of such exclusivity hasn't been the focus of more investigation by game journalist. All in all, it's finally nice to hear about the reason most multi-console gamers picked up the 360 version. Also, how the fuck did USA Today get this scoop? Since when are they better at getting inside gaming info than EGM, GameInformer, or hell, any dedicated gaming news outlet?

The announcement and rumours of what the DLC would be probably helped sales a lot early on. Thats just a theory but maybe it was mostly used as a sales pitch.

I agree with the other posters that I would rather a new environment, but perhaps we should reserve judgement for when we know more.

Considering how look it took to model Liberty City in the new engine, did you really expect them to whip up a San Andreas map in a few months?

I am excited as hell about this. I love everything about GTA4, I'm on my third playtrough.

Most likely I will buy and play this. But I will also admit the 'additional content; idea sounded so much more interesting _before_ GTAIV had actually come out.

I subsequently played the game and felt that I hadn't enjoyed it as much as the previous GTA games. Repetitive missions, and a game direction that felt like the devs had painted themselves into a corner - the more serious tone made earlier GTA games' goofy things like 'destroy 20 cars within 1 minute' totally incongruent with the GTAIV world, and hence, were left out.

Maybe this DLC will be more in line with what many were expecting from GTAIV - something less serious and more fun. I'm gonna hope R* has adjusted their strategy and has designed a more action-packed installment, with more dynamic tasks.

It's kinda weird. I feel the same way.

GTA IV is clearly the most expensive to make and technically proficient GTA yet, and yet it just wasn't a as fun as previous installments.

In a way, it kinda made me think of picking up Saints' Row 2.

Well let's be honest here and admit it was one of the more boring games that most of us played this year. Rockstar made a conscious decision to take everything that made other gta's fun to go for a more serious theme and the end result was instead of parachuting and hovercrafts and jetpacks we got to watch tv and surf a meaningless internet in the game.

Speak for yourself, tmac. It's a tossup between GTAIV and Fallout 3 for my GoTY at this point.

That said, this content is too little, too late. If I were MS, I'd be asking for some of that 50 mil back right about now (and if I were Take Two, I'd have merged with EA).

Yeh, the game is much nicer on an HDTV, stop playing on your monochrome boob tube. We get it...
You didnt think GTA4 was great, please tell me us one more time. :)

I for one, saw its pros and cons. It IS the 1rst GTA for this generation, so if this was the 2nd release (this gen) then i would rip it apart. IMO its the best one yet...

what???

If there's anything nice i can say about that game it's that the graphics and euphoria engine were really good. That's it really. I didn't think driving around an empty city was a lot of fun.

tmac,
When was the city ever empty? And don't get me wrong, Saints Row 2 fills a certain void that GTA4 neglected, but I don't know how people can be bored with it if you have an imagination.
I don't even want to know how many hours I've dumped into Cops n' Crooks or just fucking around the map with a buddy in free mode. And you hit the nail on the head with Euphoria. Every time I see anything else I get so depressed I want to cut...well, not myself, but somebody.

Really? You honestly think GTA IV is that great? Look, I've loved the gta series since gta3 but I have to admit that gta iv was the most boring thing I've bought (through hype), and played this year. Sure, they added a couple of neat things like a more useful cellphone, cover system, the taxi system, etc., but they butchered so many things since San Andreas it was bland. And let me ask you how many times did you fail a mission and start everything over from the beginning? No matter where you are at? San Andreas had a fast forward button that took you checkpoints in the mission you were at, and San Andreas was the predecessor to IV. The new GTA does NOT deserve GOTY, maybe GOW2 or Fallout 3, but not GTA IV.

I don't need a new city to be honest. Hell it'd be nice. I'd want all 3 cities work work without me having to swap discs in the future. But the fact is I love liberty city and there is tons of potential there. Tanks Battles in Manhattan, Plan Races, A real Zombie outbreak, Hurricane, SNOW, tons. I want more coop vehicles as well.

Bus with 16 friends = fun.

Chopper with some bud's that cant do anything = meh

Hope there is more details and content other then missions. I love the coop experience. Also I wouldn't mind limiting 1 island at a time for Zombie mode. If it adds to visual appeal and such I'd be in love.

Wait a minute? This is exclusive to Xbox?

For shame Microsoft, we all learned yesterday how important cross-platform sharing is to Xbox owners. How could you turn away from their wishes and restrict something to only your platform?
