My guess is R3AL1Z3 didn't do well in English class. Yet you're trying to correctify another.

I'm all for seeing a new side of Liberty City. Especially the Triads. Where the fuck were the Triads!?

Can't say I'm particularly interested in this. The story in GTA IV was great, but once it was done, I didn't touch the game again, except for a few rounds of multiplayer.

If it adds in some new areas and more vehicles, then I may download it, but if not.. I'll stick with Saints Row 2, which is a far more enjoyable game.

Would you say that SR II is closer in feel to San Andreas?

Saint's Row 2 ensures I'm not the least bit interested in this.

Haven't played the game. Is it really that good or does it serve as more of an anti-GTA IV platform for your comments?

I thought GTA IV was decent enough, like I said, it had a great story. But for me Saints Row 2 was the game GTA IV should have been, it is just far more enjoyable on almost every level.

Playing as a character you have no connection to doesnt seem like it will tie in very well to the main game. Its like getting some crappy afterthought of disjointed content that uses the same assets.

I disagree. But I'm not that hung up on continuing Niko's storyline personally. Having a new character to get to know presents a new side to LC--as long as it's done well. I guess we'll see.

if this mod allows me to beat on Niko, steal his cell phone, and use it as a ball in a game of baseball, I'm sold.

Finally. I hadn't thought about a storyline with a different protagonist, but I guess that makes sense considering the different endings to the game. It's easier to tell a different story than to try to account for who's left alive and who's dead and pick up from there.

I like that it won't be released until February. I've got lots of other games to play in the meantime. By the time February 17th rolls around, I'll probably be ready to jump back into Liberty City.

On a side note, I'm willing to bet that 3 out of every 5 people who feel it important enough to say, "I don't even care about the DLC" will end up playing it anyway. People love to bitch like their opinion means something, especially if it's negative. Makes them feel important when they dissent.

Complaining is why the internet was invented!

I also prefer the idea of playing as a new character. To be honest Niko annoyed me... I'm not really sure why, I just hated his character...

So that's what the developers have been doing instead of fixing the online glitches...

Pricing? Seriously? The DLC better offer something pretty new and original for me to want to pay more money for that game.

Feb. 17 seems a long time away. I'll still buy it, guaranteed, but they really missed their window. Six months ago would have been great.

I'm psyched. Here's hoping that the story and characters from this DLC content is just as good as in the main game.

Also on the subject of whether SR2 is better than GTAIV: I was able to rent it on the first day it came out(which is a fucking miracle I was able to do so at blockbuster)to try it out. If doing crazy stunts is the only reason that game is supposedly "better" than GTAIV, than I don't buy it. Sure it's fun for only a few hours, but then(just like the GTA3 games) you get bored of it and shelve it. GTAIV is the first times that I actually finished and enjoyed a GTA story mode(not to say the others were bad, but GTAIV's story was just so well done). Sadly, Saints Rows 2(just like its predecessor) just lacks what makes the GTA franchise so endearing.

I suspect that IV appeals to a more mature type of gamer than previous installments, i.e. focus on silver screen drama, emotional moments, removal of jet packs and pink afros, etc. As an older, more literate gamer, I sometimes forget that the average 15 year old boy won't get as much humor on average from the often hilarious in-game websites as I do.

Many of the hidden jokes in IV are for an older crowd, I think, and so the absence of the zany bits are much more conspicuous to younger fans.

At least that's my theory.
