Game & Watch Collection could be US-bound
The best thing about Japan's Club Nintendo? The occasional very cool branded merchandise, but, mostly, the exclusive games. Now there's a glimmer of hope that one of the most popular of these may be offered as a loyalty prize by the new North American chapter of the Club. We're talking about the Game & Watch Collection, which has only been available in Japan ... or for those willing to pay for it on eBay and various online retailers to the tune of $40 and up. But now the game has been rated by the ESRB (it got an "E" rating, not surprisingly) leading to the inevitable conclusion / wishful thinking that it will be available in the States for some amount of Club Nintendo points.
The collection brings together re-creations of three classic Nintendo Game & Watch LCD games: Donkey Kong, Oil Panic, and Green House. Watch them in action after the break.

Oil out of the window eh? EPA would like to have a word with you!

Nice... there are some very cool stuff in the Japanese Club Nintendo.
I hope they also release the SNES classic controller (hopefully the Super Famicom version with the colored buttons)...
And I also hope that my previous registered products work with Club Nintendo.

The SNES is one of the best controllers ever made; hopefully they release it Westside.
Fernando, do you know if the new SNES controller has built in wireless? Also, how are you liking the new xbox experience?
BPMOmega [gamertag] @ Nov 22nd 2008 11:39AM
The Super Famicom Classic Controller plugs into the Wii Remote just like a regular Classic Controller does.
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 22nd 2008 12:26PM
Well... the SNES Classic Controller works like the Classic Controller. You need to plug in it into the Wii Remote.
As for the NXE, is really nice. But, I haven't had time to play. Besides, my 360 Elite got the Error 74, a problem with the video card, three weeks ago.
I sent my console to the repair center (is still under warranty) but now the image looks very pixelated over HDMI. It looks good with component or composite video (well, at 480i in composite) but with HDMI at 1080p or 720p looks very pixelated and the images has some graphical glitches.
I'm going to sell it tomorrow. A friend is giving me $350 dlls... he doesn't have an HDTV so he is going to use it with composite cables.
$350 dlls for an Elite with Falcon chip, and two games (Forza and Marvel) and I'm going to buy the new Elite bundle (with the Jasper chip) with Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones.

Thats funny Fernando because I just sold my 360 as well. Not so I could buy another 360 mind you because I really dislike the brand and console quality.
As for this DS game ... What the hell is the point? It looks awful. Like one of those old hand held pinball games from my childhood. Lame. Maybe I'm missing something.

Do want.

Still have my Mario's Cement Factory in it's original box sitting on my bookshelf. Bought it in the Heathrow airport back in '88. Dear god that was 20 years ago!
Mr Khan @ Nov 21st 2008 8:30PM
Thankfully i've never registered anything. I could put enough together to buy this from 5 or so years of unregistered Nintendo products

Only 3 games? Man, I have one of the old Gameboy Color collections of Game & Watch games. It has at least 5 of them... :/
BPMOmega [gamertag] @ Nov 22nd 2008 1:05AM
Hey, it's free. You get what you paid for.
Cesaria (GT: Cesaria360; PSN: Cesaria) @ Nov 21st 2008 9:24PM
Hell yes. I seriously hope they count points retroactively, because I own a lot of Nintendo products. A lot.
FSK405K @ Nov 21st 2008 10:08PM
Seriously? Talk about games that haven't aged well....

Hey! It's that guy from Smash Bros!

Exclamation Rangers HENSHIN!

"Game & Watch" either refers to really old-school Nintendo games, or Metal Gear Solid 4. :)
(I played MGS4 and liked it, not a DS fanboy, just sayin)

Club Nintendo Europe is so shit.
Deadguy @ Nov 22nd 2008 12:13PM
Hmm, Nintendo might offer something people want in North America that's been out in Japan for a while? Won't happen. Not enough appeal to the Depends-wearing dementia patients that line up like morons for Wiis.
Remember, Nintendrones, Nintendo is a toy company, not a game company. They are arrogant, corrupt and dishonest, and their games are shit. Wake the fuck up.
manuel @ Nov 22nd 2008 10:27PM
Probably too old games won't count.
In the Japanese Club Nintendo, codes from new games expire after 2 years. Registered points also expire 2 years after registration.
Sami @ Nov 23rd 2008 10:55PM
Looks nice, but they could do a much bigger dual-screen G&W collection with Zelda, Safe Buster and so on.
