Nuts and Bolts killed any and all platforming awesomeness that Banjo Kazooie (64) titles had.

There. It is done.

You sure? Because I can tell from your post you've never played it yet you judged it.

How about I say.. MGS4 is a worthless piece of crap and should not even be classified as a stealth action game?

Based off of reviews, I've gleaned that it hardly resembles the '64 Banjos in terms of platforming (for ME that is what made the Banjo games awesome.) And I was just settling a dispute between almost everyone posting here on how good Nuts and Bolts actually is.

Also, you're probably assuming that I'm Playstation 3 only and hate the Xbox 360 'based off of my past comments', which I agree tends to show more positive light on PS3 than the 360.

Well, you can have an opinion on whatever game you like. However I'd say that MGS 4 is a let down in terms of standing alone, but the game is MEANT for Metal Gear Solid fans and advocates like myself. For concluding the series, I'd say that it is a 10/10 game. If you don't like the plot or MGS history then it's probably an 8/10 game at most.

Oh, and here's a medal for being my number one critiquer Arnon (between you and me, its the #1 Comment Stalker medal : )

Perhaps you should actually try playing Banjo before hopping on the band wagon? It does lack the platforming games that were present in the previous games, but much like MGS4, it stays very true to the Banjo universe. There are many references and it's all very amusing.

Banjo fans who aren't simply bitter about the transition should at least enjoy the story elements. Many others are upset because the game is actually *very* difficult. But so were the old ones.

Publishers love to kill platforming games.
- They killed Spiro and Crash Bandicoot by giving them to crappy developers.
- They killed Jak&Daxter by changing the game's focus from platforming, to weapons, and then again to vehicles.
- And now they've killed Banjo and Kazooie by changing the focus of the game from platforming to vehicles.

All of these games died because of bad decisions and unnecessary changes. Unfortunately, the industry assumes "platforming is dead" even though they haven't given a platforming game a decent chance in years.

@Evan

BK N&B is an awesome game it's quite annoying that so many people have written it off simply because it didn't stick the traditional platforming. The game is still 100% RARE and very good. It's basically a vehicle platfomer. But, hey, why try anything new, right?

Also, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts > Banjo-Kazooie 1 & 2.. The reason I'm able to say this? I own both 1 and N&B on my 360 AND had both 1 & 2 on my N64.. Nuts & Bolts is so much better than 1 & 2.. that same feeling they had so long ago doesn't seem to be there anymore. Give Nuts & Bolts a try.. Also don't trust Metacritic. 1UP and EGM are the same site (and I sent a letter to 1UP about this, which now makes me wonder if this is where that Joystiq article came from about them merging).

Metacritic - Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

1UP - 91/100

This is a game people should be playing years after it's release, online and off.

EGM - 69/100*

This is a game people should be playing years after it's release, online and off.

Someone seriously got paid money to say that Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts would flop? Did anyone, at any point, think anything different? As for NFS: Undercover: I bought it, it's good, and it will probably sell decently. Have any of the Midnight clubs done all that great? And as for SM? Who knows, could go either way. I'm certainly not buying/playing it, but you could always have the non-gamer gift buying factor on a known properity.

i really enjoyed the demo for Nuts & Bolts...and considering the $40 price point, i'm picking it up...it'll be a nice reprieve from all the FPS's i have to plow through this christmas... as for LBP...it was more fun before they starting removing the custom levels

BK: NaB is just plain fun. When I played the demo I'll admit that I was mad and didnt even like it because it changed. But for some reason I played it again, no clue why but I did, and I loved it. It's not for everyone but it is for me and well worth the low $40.00 price of admission. Graphics, music, sound effects, funny dialogue. C'mon now, just give the demo a chance and explore Shodown Town more. Its pretty awesome IMO.

BTW, dont really know the numbers on Dead Space but that game is a masterpiece. If you havent played it you are missing out on a stunning game. 10/10

Favorite games this year are...

Gears of War 2
MGS4
Dead Space
CoD: WaW
Ninja Gaiden 2
PURE
SW: TFU
BRAID
Wipeout HD
Geometry Wars 2

So did you actually buy Banjo yet? The game is awesome IMO. I know it may seem like sacrilege to you, but Banjo is keeping me from finishing Gears 2. I'm obsessed with getting every jiggy and building new vehicles.

Yeah I bought Banjo: NaB. For the first time (which I hate to do) I've been juggling several games at once. Gears 2, Banjo and COD WaW! All 3 GREAT games! I'm pretty much set. I have Mirrors Edge from Gamefly in but un-opened :( Not enough time! My wife does not understand this. lol

I know, I know. I'm still playing Gears and have Dead Space and Far Cry 2 in from Gamefly. I haven't even opened Far Cry 2. As soon as I get Dead Space 2 finished and sent back I'm expecting CoD WaW to come in.

When Banjo-Kazooie came out, I didn't even know it was released. Nobody was carrying it. If it weren't for Joystiq or whatnot I wouldn't had known it came out. I think it's one of those things of just poor timing. The 360 has too many great games to choose from in such a short period of time. Of course it's going to get lost in the shuffle. I think it would had been better to release after the holiday when the releases of titles slows.
