I enjoyed it. For the next 12 months i would hope we see some more original IPs like Mirror's Edge and Portal, and that we get more big-name games like RE5. I can't think of any really besides that so let's hope there are more landmark games for '09

1 RRoD before warranty extension, 18 months after I got my launch unit.

Held onto it, got an elite when it came out.

A few months later, disk try breaks. Warranty extension is out. I fix both for free.

A year later (a few months ago) elite RRoD. I get refurb sent to me.

Great system, now if it will only stop breaking....

Is it really the 360's third birthday? Because mine just red-ringed today and that's just hilarious. It's a good thing though, because it started scratching discs and was out of normal warranty.

It was my 2nd 360 actually. First one died with red-ring too.

I went through 4 returns, an arcade (no RROD yet), and a Elite. Best system I ever owned for the amount of things I get out of it. Happy 3rd B-day.. Here's to many more!

okay, maybe 4 more years.

Well, I had mine for about 34 months, but they've been great. Definitely the best console out of the three. Let's hope for a couple more good years of life out of the 360 and some more great times gaming. =]

My launch day 360 never Red Ringed, but it froze often. I got it repaired going on almost 2 years ago. It has been COMPLETELY flawless since (knock on wood). It's quiet and runs like a champ. Main complaints are the digital pad, HD-DVD loss was a low point too (but they have redeemed themselves with Netflix), and the reliability was an issue, but honestly I only was w/out my 360 for 2 weeks . I would have complained about the UI some, but it's been totally fixed with NXE.

I own all 3, and 3 years later the 360 still gets the most attention. 3 years in, I think it's safe to say it is my favorite console this gen.

I would have gotten a 360 if most of the games were not on PC when they come out or shortly after they come out. (I got a PS3 instead because of Blu-ray and MGS 4. So?)

I also did not want to deal with the Halo community which in ways is worse than the Counter-strike community. X-box Live can give it's users throat cancer for all I care!

One more thing, 360 gamers are why some games are being dumbed down. Thank you very much to the players of games such as Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and whatever EA Sports game you jackoffs play.

The Halo community is really not that bad. I've met some really great people from playing Halo Yeah, there are a lot of jerks as well but that's mainly due to how large the online community is for the game. But simply muting people (or everyone) means you don't have to deal with any of it.

Try playing Pokemon, or Mario Kart online and then you'll know the true meaning of bad communities.

You wish cancer on those using a 360. That would make you a massive asshole. There are plenty of Live games other than Halo - its just sad that you need to make your weak ass fanboy argument of the day. Get over Halo already.

Besides that, saying the 360 gamers have caused dumbed down games is one of the more ignorant things said around here in a while. Last I checked, there were a bunch of the same EA sports games and such on the PS3 too.

Happy birthday 360. We had some good times when you didn't die on me only to be resurrected. I never really understood what all the fuss was about and found you less than stellar. None the less there would good times to be had in a few games that you brought about like Gears Of War, Orange Box, Lost Odyssey & some Arcade titles to name but a few.

However, I won't be enjoying you any longer because I sold you a few days ago for a decent sum of $. After I met these two other girls (polar opposites) I could never go back to you because they gave me more satisfaction without all the expense and torture of wondering when I can count on you to do what you say you will.

Good times are good times and I wish you the best of luck in the future. As time passed we just grew apart. Nothing more to it than that, honestly. I won't give you a shot next time around either for at least a year. You are going to have to prove that you are worthy of my money.

Happy birthday and best of luck (good riddance!) in the future. :ahem: Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

The 360 would be the perfect console if 1) it didn't have the worst D-pad known to man and 2) Blu-Ray.

Even so, it's still the best console of this generation largely due to its stellar game library. My PS3 has been relegated to playing the Blu-Ray movies in my NetFlix Queue and my Wii might as well be a paperweight...total waste of money.

I use the 360 daily. Even more now that I've discovered PlayOn and hulu.com. Those two things work with the PS3, too, but IMO the 360's implementation is better. Mostly, the 360 wins based on game library...which is really all that matters in a *game console*.

Happy Birthday, 360.

As a PS360 owner, I still go to my 360 more often than not for the games. Hopefully Sony will come up with some solid multiplayer exclusives this coming year...So far Resistance 2 is the only title getting any play from me on the little black box...and yes, I had one 360 die on me already and I'm STILL enjoying it more.

I wonder if annyone has a three year old untampered/repaired console?

I doubt it, and it kinda brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, "console lifecycle".

I love my 360. Yes, I got the dreaded RRoD over this past summer, but I got one of the orginal Core models (about 3 months after the 360 first came out). I've never been a Playstation fan, so I am probably a bit biased, but I've seen the PS3 and I think when it boils down to it the 360 is better.

3 years of awesomness. Congrats. Definately agree best console this generation. I own all 3 consoles and i can definately say the 360 is the way to go if you really want to play games. Only reason i bought a PS3 is to play MGS4 cuz i couldn't wait to play it ever since that its just collecting dust under my bed. As for the Wii its a good party console but thats it no real games for it. Lets hope for another awesome years to come.

I own all three consoles and the 360 is my fav. I always go back to it, check it the most, etc.

When NXE came, it started freezing tons, and MS don't want to pay for the repair, though they gave me 50% off it. Despite that, it's still my favorite.

I can't wait to send it off so it will come back quickly lol
