I've actually got a torrent of FFVIII on my PS3, but I can't get the damn thing to work. =(

It needs installshield to work (to unpack the content of the four discs) and for some reason installshield hates me and refuses to work.

I've played all the way through FFVIII on my PS3- over HDMI, no less- with no trouble. Is it maybe an issue with different models? I'm rocking a 60 gig.

Tobal please. oh, and Star Gladiator, Vagrant Story, Bushido Blade, Suikoden 2, Breath of Fire 3, Colony Wars, Alundra and SF Alpha 3 while you're at it. wha the heck, why not some Abe games, as well as the two Lunars'?

What you really want is Tobal 2. It is so much better than the first! Too bad it probably won't happen. :(

That was a serious vote for Jedi Power Battles...

I don't really know, though. I don't think they should waste their time putting the really popular games on PSN since, chances are, most people who care have already finished those games a long time ago.

I really want to get the games I missed. Vagrant Story in particular.

If they were THAT good, why not put them on PSN, I completed Tomb Raider 3 and it took me yonks to do it, why buy another PS2 and an old copy of Tomb Raider 3 when I could get it for cheap on PSN and kick that games ass that gave me hell back in the days?

Mind you five-year-rule applies to these games too. Grab a 360 controller, start an emulator and torrent away!

I'd love to know why Crash Team Racing still isn't in the US store. I've been putting off replacing my broken disc with a used one because I'd like to have it on my PSP as well. I have no idea how much red tape needs to be cut to get games on the store in the US, but so far it's been a straight up disappointment.

24 games after what, nearly 2 years? I know it's pessimistic, negative and asinine to say, but if you're not going to do it right, don't do it at all.

I guess this is the real reason they took away backward compatibility? So they can sell you the old games?

PS3 still plays PS1 games, not PS2.

Not a biggie, as long as they put some rare games up that few could get hold of. Besides CDs are annoying and how would I play Crash Warped on my PSP if it were on CD, most of the PS1 gaming I do is Via my PSP.

What DangerMouse said. All PS3's can still play PS1 games. It's PS2 BC that's been taken away.

I had a fat PSP, broke it, and about three years later bought a slim for the express purpose of playing FF Tactics. Its a much more refined version of the original.

I admit that buying a PSP is a little overkill to play one game. If you get a chance to play the PSP version, do it.

You can probably find emulators too... I'm just sayin' is all.

emulator for psp or ps1? Think you meant ps1 since I never seen a working psp emulator.

For me, a game played on the computer through emulator never feels the same as an actual controller on the tv :(

Ummhmms how about Metal Gear Solid? Also, Crash Team Racing, Marvel vs. Capcom, more Spyro, Gex, Resident Evils, Tomba, and whatever else people have said on this thread.

And I also want PS2 games.

The PS1 version of marvel Vs. Capcom was terrible. I'm sure the main issue blocking this is the licensing barriers, but i would rather have the arcade version, even in a simple emulated form.

Star Wars Episode 1 was a great game. With the aide of the "all weapons" cheat, you could go on a killing spree in the underwater city and kill everything that looked like Jar-Jar with a rocket launcher.

It's remarkably therapeutic.

I'd like to see the following on the European PSN...
Final Fantasy 7/8/9
Resident Evil 1/2/3
Dino Crisis 1/2
Tekken 1/2/3
Parappa The Rapper/UmJammer Lammy
Vib Ribbon
Ape Escape
Mega Man 8/X3/X4/X5/X6
There are plenty of games I'd buy again for the PSone, at a reasonable price, of course.

I nominate Driver (1999). Remember that game? I thought that game was amazing when I played that back then. The only bad part was the slowdown. It would be great to play that again. Maybe they could even clean it up a little with the slowdown.

Release Xenogears and I'll buy a PS3. I'm serious, I'm thiiis close from buying one. Even more if you release Chrono Cross, or maybe just start at the highest selling and work your way down the list. It'd be better then releasing Z list titles nobody cares about on a bi-yearly basis.
