You don't understand, the internet. LittleBigPlanet coulda had class. It coulda been a contender. It coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what it is, let's face it. It was you, other games released in the same release window. It was you.
OK, so Sony UK spokesperson David Wilson didn't put it exactly like that, and LittleBigPlanet is pretty far from a bum. But Wilson did say that the game would have been number one on the charts during a different time of year. He went on to say, "This is an incredibly volatile time of year and the chart reflects that - November 7 saw 47 titles released on that one day alone including many big hitters with Christmas number one aspirations."
We feel Wilson's pain. Why oh why won't science invent other months besides October and November? Are two months really enough?

That whole launch delay really derailed LBP. But even so I was surprised by the almost non-existent promotion for the game outside of gaming sites. I was expecting wall to wall advertising but in the UK at least there was next to nothing. Where the hell was the advertising?
If this was just some crappy game I wouldn't care, but LBP should have been a system seller. Someone somewhere really, really screwed up on this.
Still, I expect the title will have pretty long legs. Sony will end up bundling it with the console to ensure it does.

Poor excuse: did Phil Harrison rejoin their ranks?
Of course they're not going to address the problems the users feel the game has.
I really liked LBP but I too think it would've been much more successful on the Wii if only for the much bigger install base. It also would've helped if they didn't jerk the users around (draconian moderation & server problems)especially when they're depending on the users to keep the game relevant.

don't get me wrong....I like LBP.....but I'm sorry it isn't what I would classify as a system seller.
the problem is that the key selling point of the game is the create-your-own-level aspect which is:
1) hard to relate in a 30 sec. commercial
2) The majority of people don't want to spend a massive amount of time designing their own levels...they just want to play a game.
While LBP is brilliant in design and cuteness.....SONY methinks expected too much from it.
