Nothing quite like being packed into a frenzied shopping mob, is there? It's why we wait for hours in the cold dark with nothing more than the lingering memory of Thanksgiving stuck between our teeth. Or ... maybe it's just the promise of unbelievable savings?

We've scoured the nation's largest retailers for Black Friday's video game deals and compiled these savings into a series of really good lookin' guides. Since you're likely to focus your efforts on one retailer, selling not just games, but various gift opportunities, we've narrowed our field down to six nationwide megastores -- with the exception of GameStop, which, well, just sells games. (Joytip: Consult GamerDeals or other Black Friday compilation sites for additional sales at small, regional or online retailers.)

I've never really gotten into online RPGs. Anyway, I'm hoping its the Last Remnant for 360 and that it is 40$ or less.

I bought it.
I'm kinda broke now and I'm gonna get hollered at by someone, but damnit, I bought it!

You might as well buy it because Last Remnant has been $39.99 all day on Amazon.

It's also part of the countdown to black friday deal, which might be why. Buy an elite get Last Remnant and a 4000 point card free.

I have to say, Amazon's deals this year are so much better than anything I'm seeing from retail stores.

This weekend Amazon had a "Black Friday" deal for a very nice Sony receiver for a 65% discount. That's right, $190 for a $450 receiver. Not a video game, but a prime example. I didn't have to camp out in front of Best Buy either.

I've managed to do most of my Christmas shopping via Amazon this weekend at very nice discounts. Retail stores are slowly being phased out for my big purchases.

Anyway, I do think I'll take a stroll through Target to see if I can pick up Dead Space @ $30, but no big deal if I can't. That's it though...

Just shows that retail by internet is the wave of the future.

I personally have a lot of fun camping out for Black Friday. Especially if you're in the not-that-cold-at-all state of California.

I did it one year because it's a tradition for my in-laws. Thankfully they're getting tired of it and this year they just want to get up really early.

guerilla, one reason for amazon to have just great deals is:
They don't have that much overhead like best buy, walmart target.. so is a big werehouse that shipps items. so they can affort great deals. not to mention they can negotiate with the manufactures to reduce the price. is a great way to buy.. to me out of all the retail store, target got the best deals...

Errr, how does a free R&C game and free Casino Royale Blu-ray add up to $100 savings? Are we counting Casino Royale as 40 bucks?

They are going by the MSRP of each product to which R&C is $60 and the Blu-Ray of Casino Royale is $40.

Holy crap GameStop's sales suck.

dammit....sucks if you've already bought all the games you want....the only upgrades I'd like for my 360 is larger harddrive and hdmi output--which requires a new 360 for both.

Would it kill you guys to put PC games deals in your guide too? We do still exist...

There really aren't any... look on the websites dedicated to black friday ads. I think there's one that I saw in the Circuit City ad, haven't looked at any others though.

Looks like the Circuit City one is slightly wrong for the Xbox 360 Arcade bundle... They forgot to mention that you get a free 20GB refurbished HDD. That plus the free wireless controller = me waiting 8 hours in 20 degree weather for. I'll just pop a 200GB HDD in there for $70 more and I'll have a better bundle than the $400 one for $130 cheaper. Also, the savings is kinda wrong on the other 360 bundle there, if you count getting a $30 gift card to a store that just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as savings.

I love BB's Black Friday deals. Last year I got Stuntman 2 for $10, this year it looks like I'll have to pick up Saints Row and The Simpsons Game.

Black Friday deals only seem like deals if your time is worthless. I refuse to stand in line, out side for hours in freezing cold weather, long before I usually wake up in the morning, to save a few bucks on video games. Most of the deals are on games I would never buy anyway, even if they are only 9.99 or so.

I'm playing it cheap this year, C&C 3 PC Limited Collection is on ad at Best Buy for $9.99. So I'll pick that one up. Also, I have a gift card still kicking around, so I might pick up ChronoTrigger DS while there.

Best Buy's PS3 bundle is tempting me a bit. I wanna play LBP goddamnit.

Anyone knows when are those new DS bundles going to be released?

Duke, It's possibly THE beast spectator "sport" in the world! There's running AND fighting, there's jumping AND kicking, there's throwing AND cursing (don't forget death threats to each other! best part) they should hand out popcorn to people who aren't participating in Black Friday. So yeah it is a pretty sweat spectator sport, not so fun when your thrown into the mix.

I haven't been out on Black Friday since the mid-70s when I don't even think it was called that! It was still a madhouse though. Me, I'm all about CyberMonday. I detest schleping through stores for ANYTHING no matter what time of year. CyberMonday is for me!

Is it me, or do these deals suck? Props to Joystiq for putting the list together, but I'm saying the actual deals are really weak. I bet we'll see better ones over the next few weeks.
