Fan-made movies typically fluctuate in quality from "total waste of time" to "amusing, but probably still not a great use of time." But we have to admit that the trailer from Eddie Lebron's upcoming Mega Man flick has us intrigued. You can see it just after the jump.
Though we're excited to see the robo-battles, we're a little nervous about being exposed to Dr. Wily's mustache for any considerable span of time. Is he serious with that thing? It looks like he let Mr. Snuffleupagus sleep on his upper lip.
Well, I thought that chick was a dude in a wig at first.
But otherwise, it doesn't look terrible It seems that they have a decent scriptwriter, judging from the lack of abysmal lines, and decent acting to boot. Might be a fun watch.
Hey sorry about the site slow downs at Ningin.com. Every time we've added a new server or optimized something, more people just keep coming! So just come back a bit later, the servers are working, just being extremely taxed.
And the embedded player here on joystiq isn't going to work. We're not YouTube quite yet and can't afford to stream hi-def videos on other websites, especially one as popular as joystic! But we're going to fix that soon hopefully!
Seems interesting enough, but the robot master design seems a bit too Megaman X-ey for my tastes... I guess that's about the only thing you could do if you're going for a live action Megaman, I guess.
Another interesting trailer-never-meant-to-be-a-real-film is "Grayson"...google it and enjoy endless hero cameos from the interesting to the downright why-the-fuck-did-they-throw-him-in-there.
Oh man Grayson rocks! I'm still hoping this becomes and actual movie. Dig around and look for a behind the scenes making of the trailer, which is equally as entertaining.
That was actually pretty damn good and they went with a nice epic selection of music for their trailer. The guy playing Dr. Wiley is sooo damn cheesy, yet it's oddly perfect for the character.
I thought it was kinda cool. The special fx when Megaman drops onto the street was really well done I thought. I don't know if I'd watch the movie for 1.5 hours though!
I dunno. All the robots look like they are right out of the game. They don't look "cinematic" enough. It's like Michael Bay Transformers vs. Fanboy 3D Transformers. There needs to be a little artistic interpretation to make them believable. The MM art style doesn't translate directly to reality without looking cartoony.
Oh c'mon, what's not to like about this? Some people like Mega Man enough to go out on their own time and money and film this stuff. I thought it was awesome. I'm not sure about a whole feature length film, but as a trailer it was fun and well done. Who didn't love Mega Man dropping onto the street, that was brilliant.
If you didn't at least crack half a smile then I think something's wrong with you.
