Don't call it Recon, call it Halo 3: ODST

Coming as somewhat of a surprise, team Bungie just made the announcement that Halo 3: Recon will be no more. Well, not the game itself, just the game's name which is now being called Halo 3: ODST.

Reason for the name change wasn't given (other than the fact that 3 and ODST have a nice flow), but we're sure the whole ODST name change makes the game's campaign a little more clear for those who like things more straightforward. Bungie also made it clear that the game's release, content and Recon armor giving will not be affected by the name change. Welcome Halo 3: ODST, say goodbye to Recon and long live Bungie.

Maybe they changed the name so it doesn't seem like the game you just get to get recon armour.

You will get the Recon armor in Halo 3:ODST if you get all of the Vidmaster Challenges.

Haven't played Halo in a while, but isn't ODST a type of Armor too?

ODST is a type of armor, which your character in H3:ODST wears because it's what ODSTs wear.

But the game isn't named for the armor, it's named for the type of soldier you play as.

I liked H3: Recon better as a title; even though you aren't really doing much recon if you were part of a bunch special forces units that were sent in to push back enemy forces in one of your own cities.

Any who, find the name change a bit weird. Why bother?

I think they did it cause the name Recon makes it sound like it has stealth elements in it, which it probably doesn't. It's just Halo 3 with some new dressing

ehh. I kinda liked Halo 3: Recon. but in the end, its just a title

I like eggs to but I'm not complaining.

I don't think it's possible to make the new name look or sound good.

maybe it is part of the master plan, they said Halo 3:Recon will be the LAST game for halo right??
and as far as i can see this game is not Halo3:Recon (in a sense). Hey who knows maybe the are taking back there word (which is not a bad thing i might add)
